I have been also doing a lot of research on this. Don’t seem to be a lot of installs done on the C7. I want to do the crazy cowboy sound deadening also but I’m trying to find out from someone that did the install kit and then went back later on to do the audio install.
Yeah. I'm not seeing a lot of C7 installs, either. When I replaced my speakers I added sound deadening and I think it made a big difference. Not the Cowboy stuff. But now that I'm thinking of adding a more powerful amp and dash speakers I'd like to get a little advice.
When I had my C5 Z06 I had a awesome system in it with the sound deadening. I plan on having my audio guy do my install down the road. Did you add your speakers and sounddeadening yourself? How does it sound now? What do you have now in your car?
I replaced my door speakers and rear 8" sub. The sound is drastically better but it still lacks power. I bought sound deadening off Amazon, had a good rating. My installer did everything. Cost $200. It'll probably be close to 1K for amp, PAC-Audio, and install, and hopefully also dash speakers. I have no idea which way to go there, tho.
Yeah you definitely need a good amp. I don’t like that there are subs in the doors. I will be looking at having adapter plates made for my doors and going with 6.5 component set. Mine does not have the sub in the back. I found a setup that another guy did and it came recommended from Doubledmods when Dennis first starting doing the C7. I think that will definitely be a good way to go.
