Melting Slicks
I added one to my 1LZ. I used Nav-Tv. Plug and play. Camera is activated by a switch I installed on the dash. Integrates with the factory Radio screen perfectly.

Navtool is another option but installation is slightly more difficult (if you can even get the right install instructions from them). That company was banned from this site for shady practices a few years ago. There are a few on this forum who have successfully installed one. I decided I did not want to chance it with Navtool.

I did the Navtool install. Works great!

Does the navtool just mirror, or does it project and still allow interaction through the touch screen to operate Android Auto?

It acts like the rear view camera. The difference is you press the back key 3 seconds to turn on the front camera OR do a reverse then to forward. Once you hit approx 15mph it turns off automatically. The screen works like normal. This is for the older version. They now have a new version (v5) which reportedly has some improvements. Check out the thread ssmith512 linked.

Hello, I added a front camera to my 2017 LT1. It is a license frame setup and it is wireless. $125 at COSTCO. Very easy install. I made a holding bracket for mounting it behind the hidden slide down screen for my radio etc, and hook it up to the USB port located there. The frame is solar powered, but it is looking like I have to recharge it occationally. The resultion is excellent. The big advantage is that it is wireless.

Navtool on my 2014 and a friends 2015. Been working flawlessly since initial installation. What shows on the iPhone, shows on the NAV screen when hooked up to HDMI cord. Front camera comes on when you shift into reverse and then drive/1st (Automatic or stick). Front camera can be commanded on by pressing the "Back" button for 3 seconds. Once commanded on, it'll stay on until you shut off the car or press the "Back" button again to turn it off. If you reverse D/1st and the camera comes on automatically, it'll stay on until you get to 9MPH then it shuts off. The back up camera continues to work as normal at all times.
Beauty is all information is on current NAV screen.
