As soon as it gets fixed trade it before it hits CARFAX.

Hate to see the damage to your car, but I'd say it is definitely repairable. Find a top quality body shop and go from there.

Just a bumper cover and hood. Maybe a few componets under and a headlight. Good as new. Everyone is acting as these are worth several hundred thousand dollar cars with all the diminished value.

If it were me, I would compare the original quote from the dealer you were going to trade it in and have them give you a quote after it was repaired and use that difference as diminished value.

It most certainly looks like mostly cosmetic damage and should be repairable. That’s not to say it will not be expensive. This little beauty was $1700 to repair. Concrete softballs are tough on a bumper.

Sorry to see your car damaged ... But it does definitely look repairable. Make sure you get a qualified body shop, you will want all the panels to fit perfect. Save your pictures,, if ever you want to sell the car you can show the accident pics so they can see for themselves the damage.

I am going to discuss diminished value with the adjuster tomorrow.
I know I am fortunate to have walked away as we are from any accident but still it irritates me that people do not pay attention. Also she was in a brand new (paper tag) SUV herself with kids in the back seat.
She was ticketed and the police report will say it was her fault. I am going after everything I can get on this one.

I will be getting rid of it since I never keep one after an accident. This makes two vehicles in a few years that I've been hit in and it wasn't my fault. I need to get a bicycle I guess. LOL

Wont work out well if you get hit while riding a bike!!

An awesome shop in Houston has the car and he is going through it now. He is dealing with insurance company and adjuster so I just have to sit back and wait. Diminished Value claim has been filed as well.

Doesn't look like there is any frame damage. Should repair perfectly.

That's what I am concerned about. It does seem as if the frame is bent but we will see tomorrow. They are supposed to call me and let me know when they get it up on the rack.

Highly doubt there is frame damage. Screw fixing it ... upgrade it! Get a new front fascia from ADPM and a more aggressive hood.

That's a thought. But I was getting ready to trade it on a Z06 that I found and wanted. Deal still pending just need to figure out the damage to this car first.

So on the carfax thing, does any repair diminish the value? I had the rear window, side window and side skirt get damaged. Its all cosmetic, but it was vandalized so police report, insurance claim etc. Any idea how to estimate it?

As long as there is NO frame damage it can be fixed perfectly well... by a COMPETENT shop. Therein lies the potential rub, though. Best to ya!

I'm surprised the air bag didn't deploy. At least you didn't get hurt.
