Default Wheels

my car is a 2017 base vert it has 18 and 19 inch wheels on it. The question is in 2018 the base wheel size was changed to 19 and 20 inch wheels, Right.
So if I changed to 19 and 20 inch wheels on my car would I have an issue with fit? or speedometer?

No problem. The 18/19 wheel/tire combination and the 19/20 wheel/tire combination are almost the same circumference. 2014-2017 the wheel/tire sizes are interchangeable.

So what 19/20 wheels are you looking at?

Frankly, were it me, I'd stay with the sizes you have. That way you have a little extra sidewall, which is not a bad thing if you are only driving on the streets.

Not really looking but every now and then in the for sale section someone will take off a brand new set of tire/wheel combos at a very good price.

Mostly

The extra sidewall will give you a better chance of saving the wheels from potholes, and base wheels are cheap used..

OTOH, the extra sidewall will reduce steering response a little and the 18/19 PSS tires use a different tread compound that is a little more street oriented, which may be better or worse depending on how you use the car.

Give Tim at Stance Wheels a call. He can tell you what they have that will be the best fit for your car taking into consideration caliper clearance and all and hook you up with a vendor to buy them. @VibeMotorsports is a vendor on here that sells these wheels too. I love the look they give the car. I went with a directional set up on mine.

We ordered a base suspension 2014 with standard painted wheels. It was built Dec 2013. So OEM 18/19 Michelin RFs on stock rims. Always the plan, the second week we mounted 19/20s. Using OEM Michelin RFs and HREs. The new tires are exactly the same as would have come on a Z51. This had zero impact on clearance or the speedometer reading. This is my wife's DD. The ride quality is no different than any Z51. Nor than our base suspension C6 DD she drove for 60K. These cars are not Sertas on wheels. We were careful to spec the HRE wheel offsets at OEM tolerance. The only difference is cosmetic. Which is exactly why we did it. We had no use for the Z51 package of suspension upgrades. And less than none for the dry sump oil system. We did have an interest in the aesthetics of our car. We think it turned out marh-vaw-luss.

Presumably, when you refit your car with 19/20s you'll upgrade from the OEM wheel quality. The correct tires are easy to source. So go for it!

Pay attention to the mode in which you are driving your call. For normal everyday street/cruising I have mine in touring to soften the suspension a bit to save stress and impact on the wheels.

That extra 1/2 inch of sidewall may save you from a cracked, or bent rim. I have driven over some horrendous pot holes and have yet had issue with my 18 and 19 inch wheels that have 99,350 miles on them. But it may be the manufacturing quality of the OEM wheels of my 2016 model.

Unfortunately, we have ruined two Z51 tires and bent two wheels (two different incidents) on the dogshit roads of Illinois while driving in Tour, with the upgraded (softer) mag ride update.

I went down from my OEM Z51 19/20s to an aftermarket 18/19 non-run-flat combo and the ride quality improved.
