I have it in my 15 and use it. I have used it my other GM cars and has been useful when there were problems with the car when check engine lights came on technical people would get on and explain the problem. Plus the accident and stolen feature is a plus
I have never used it. I signed up for the complimentary service too but never needed it so I didn't feel it was worth spending the money each month to keep it.
I signed up for the complimentary service in my C6. From what I can tell the main functionality is sending you emails asking to renew.
I did not sign up for it in my C7.
Yes. I use it all the time. I use the My Chevrolet application every day. Use it for remote starts, Vehicle Status, to send Navigation to my vehicle, vehicle Location and all of the app features.
Unfortunately, one year ago today I was involved in an accident at 70 MPH on the interstate. I pushed the SOS button and within minutes they had police, fire, ambulance and towing there to help me.
My phone does almost everything OnStar could do that I'd find useful. One good thing about OnStar though is the three lights on the mirror remind me I've got power there should I ever install a blendmount for a radar detector.
Don't use it. Don't need it. Refused to give them a credit card # because cancelling service will put you through hell that you don't need to put up with.
I have a cell phone and concealed carry permit; I'll use those instead.
I can't imagine how calling OnStar and having them send nav programming to my car is better in any possible way than simply having my phone connected to Carplay.

Car play and adroid auto are nice but there's something to be said for just having the in car nav do it's thing as well. No wires hanging out any where and no phone mounted anywhere either. I use both but find myself more often than not using the in car Nav in my Vette and My Tahoe. I find it a clean usable interface that just works pretty flawlessly. I use it in the Vette yesterday and drove almost 300 miles round trip and it worked great.
I have had my Corvette for about 5 weeks now. Over the weekend I used Onstar 3 times. Once when heading to the golf course I just press the button asked the to download directions to my Nav for the golf course...done.

On the way home from the golf course I wanted to stop by apple bees and get a carry out. Did not know the phone number for apple bees so while driving called OnStar...they called apple bee for me.
On Sunday going on a 200 mile trip and wanted to know when the next rest stop was - Onstar told me.
Could I have used my phone for the first two--- yes but call Onstar saved me time and was super easy. The third time...on Onstar can tell you.
My auto Insurance company (Allstate) gives a 10% discount to have the OnStar tracking feature which equates to about $20 per month. I only have the lowest OnStar package which includes tracking, accident awareness, ability to shut down car if stolen, monthly diagnostic reports on my car systems and a couple other features I cant remember for $21 per month. So if I dont have the OnStar I dont get the discount with my insurance. I'm paying whether I have it or not, so I figured I would have the OnStar. Have not had to use it yet except for the monthly diagnostic reports it sends me each month.
I used it once VERY recently - what a waste of time. Brand new 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe RST. Transmission failed (normal driving). Pushed On-Star for a tow. 1 hour later, still no tow and no update. Pushed On-Star again for a status update. Was on hold. In the meantime, a roll-back tow truck came by and asked if I needed some help. (still on hold) He gets it on the ramp and off to the dealer. (I kept On-Star "on") Download the truck at the dealer (just got off hold and they ask "are you in a safe place"?).
I paid $80.00 to the tow truck driver and told On Star that I no longer needed their help. Luckily, I'm just barely into the free On Star. If this was a real emergency, I'd imagine there'd be a different response, but for normal mechanical issues...meh.
