Two weeks ago picked up my c7 so the first wave was this past Friday July 5th around 730AM near teterboro airport to a red C7 coupe. I stuck my hand over the windshield to wave but midway, my hand hit my vanity mirror and was super awkward but I did manage to get my hand out and make a wave. Red C7 waved back lol.
The awkwardness level was if you guys have seen that video where POTUS is shaking macron's hand so hard that Macron almost fell over towards trump lol
Happy sunday and damn what a great product America has made!!
I've given up waving, at least to newer version Vettes (C6&7s) when in the C7. I do, however, flash my lights at all Vettes. I can recall but one reply in almost two years from either waves or flashes when driving the C7. I did, and still do get a few--very few--responses when in my C5 (which I still drive occasionally), most of those being many years ago.
I think part of it is most of us being in "hermetically sealed" cocoons, both givers and receivers of waves... or whatever. I always get LOTS of waves when driving my vintage, OPEN roadster.
On Independence Day we were driving the other car through Sonoita AZ and I spotted a 58 Corvette coming towards us, I waved and he waved back. I said to my wife, he knows I'm a Corvette driver, she said but you don't have one yet. The next day I accepted my 2019 Stingray Convertible 2LT Torch Red from Watson Chevrolet.
I’ve waved at Corvettes from everything I’ve driven over the past few years, and will spark up a brief complimentary conversation when I run into them at a gas stations.
It’s fun to see and hear the mixed results.
