Can you please explain what the new TC would do for my car? I don't understand what it does and how to determine what I'd set it at. What are the effects of going a over or under the stock setting?

Thank you.

Hi Lou, simply put. It will allow you to choose how much throttle opening you'll get for a given depression of the pedal. Let's select a point of reference as an example; say the pedal is depressed about a quarter of the way (~25% pedal) with stock setting you may get i.e.10% throttle opening. Now with the controller you may set it at under 10% or leave it right at 10%, or go above 10% opening, the same will happen at any other pedal %.

At zero pedal you will always get (no matter which setting) ECM commanded throttle (idle, cruise control, ect.). At 100% pedal you will always get 100% throttle or whatever the actual happens to be. What you are controlling is the way in which it goes from zero to 100%.

On the display, you'll set a mode and then increase the level for that mode one at a time, drive, then chose the next mode and increase the level on that mode, drive, and so on, until you hit a mode and level for which the pedal feels right to you. There are 37 possible choices. My personal favorite in combination with our TB is performance mode 1, level 9 (P1.9), or performance mode 2, level 1 (P2.1). Everybody has their own favorite.

On my M7 LT1 I have tried all of the settings and have found that P2.4 is where I like it best. Setting P2.4 is about half way between the mildest performance setting P1.1 and the most aggressive performance setting P3.9.

I have owned my new GS M7 for a week now, and I was disappointed to find it has the same lazy throttle response found in almost all live wire cars these days. I have used throttle control devices on several of my cars from various companies. I often just tune my cars, but I want to leave my car stock this time, so a throttle commander makes a great alternative. I am surprised at the $75 cost. That is fantastic. Other companies charge 4x that, for no real reason. This is great news!

I am interested to see how people like it, I have never used one but I did get the Soler TB and can say that Mike has provided great customer service and if I decide to try one I would I would try the Soler one just because of that.

It's actually hard to find someone that doesn't like it.

WOOOHOOO, will put this sucker in tomorrow and see how it does. Looking forward to seeing the differences between this and the Vitesse that is in there now.

Any Z06 owners currently running this. Curious as to what setting you like. Really wanting a linear instant throttle response.

I just installed the throttle body this past weekend, and have the controller on my desk to install today or tomorrow (wanted to do them separately).

Will chime in upon install. This is for a '19 C7Z.

BTW, if anyone has any pictures of how/where you mounted the pedal part of the controller I’d appreciate it. I’ve seen a few but when I got down there to finish it, I had other ideas...

Mike, I have a '17 GS M7. I recently bought your TB and installed it. While I did notice an improvement, it did not completely resolve the issue I have when exiting a turn at full throttle on the track. It seems to hesitate/lag which I think is caused by the nannies kicking in (videos indicated this). I was running in PTM Sport 1 initially, then switched to PTM Sport 2 in which it did the same thing, but not as bad. I'm curious how much the PTM modes affect your TB functionality and will the TC help improve this "lag". I rate myself an above average driver still running in the intermediate group, but don't think running in PTM Race is something at my skill level that I should consider. All I want is for the car to go when I roll on the throttle so I have complete control. Any thoughts? BTW, I'm really glad you are producing a TC now and the design/cost are very attractive . . . thanks!!!

Hi redman76, I think you are right, it may be traction control "helping". In that case, neither the TB nor the TC would help. They will try but if torque is being managed/limited by the ECM then your intentions will be overridden. That is as far as we can go without a larger TB, or a tune, or both.

What would be the stock starting point with all these different stages. From what I gather if I go to the screen that says not that is no alteration. But at which number in the alteration is it at stock or right above?

I mounted the box on the sidewall of the drivers area using double sided tape and the controller is inside the center console facing the driver.
