Does anyone know if the nav update is 'locked" to your VIN when you order it. The reason I ask, my 2018 Cadillac XT5 shows the same part number for the update and I'll order just one to update both the Cadillac and Z06 if it will work.

Locked to the VIN. That is why you must supply your VIN to place the order.
Since I have a 2014 I got it when it was on sale and just used it on a long trip and back. Works fine for me but remember, the '14's didn't have the hookup for WIFI or phones. However, one road, a new bypass around a town while coming south on 301 thru Florida didn't show up. However, I figured that with the end of the 7's might as well get it.
I had mentioned earlier in this thread that I was a bit pissed off that I just got the 2019 update which was also on sale recently and now this 2020 update came out. WTF, if I knew the 2020 was coming out so soon after the 2019 I would not have spent my money on it.
Well I left a review on the BBB website in regards to “Here Technologies”, the company that makes the Nav system. Basically wrote my beef with them on the 2020 update and mentioned they should offer people who just got the last 2019 update a free upgrade or at least a heavily discounted upgrade to the newly released 2020 version.
Well the power of BBB. Just received the new 2020 update in the mail. No charge!
Got mine about 2 weeks ago when it was marked down to $99. I installed it, took about 45 minutes and I love the update, Changed the map to more of a 3D style with buildings, etc. Nice update on my '14 that still had the original map.

That's interesting. I thought the updates just added new addresses. Thanks.
A big upgrade from my Original 2014 OEM maps and I think it only took 25-30 minutes to install so it was faster than the 50 minutes cited as install time but of course that is likely the worse case scenario. I generally would run my OEM against Waze to see how bad it was in terms of directions and at times it was pretty bad.
I have continued to run OEM and Waze together and I have noticed OEM improvements in routes similar to Waze. I have still noticed a few routes that weren't the most efficient or would take you out of the way or don't pick up a turn. That said, I am more comfortable using my OEM Navigation than in the past but I don't think you will every get on the same level as Waze/Google Maps.
Lastly, I would say for $99, the upgrade was worth it on my 2014 and the feel and look and intuitiveness on the OEM Navigation seems much better.

Question...having issues running WAZE with Apple Car Play. Just bought our coupe, used. We got a nav update in the deal.
ISSUE...WAZE doesn't display car speed accurately. It's way lower than actual speed. Why? How do I fix it? Use the same phone in our new Jeep with Apple Car Play and it works.

I can't find them on the BBB sight as I just receive my 2019 2 weeks ago and would think they would have sent 2020 as the latest.... SMH

It appears that 1) the package ships from Smyrna, TN and 2) the company is located in Chicago, ILL and 3) the name(s) are "Here Technologies" "HERE North American, LLC"

If you go to the website, it asks for your car model and you choose from the list it brings up. Once you order it, it asks for your VIN to confirm it works for your vehicle. Update will show as V.2020

How do I determine whether GM is offering me the 2019 or 2020 version of the update?
When I go to the page for 2015 it shows v.2019 which I already have. When I go to the page for 2016 it show v.2020. I put in my VIN and it validates it, which is kinda strange. So, I wonder if I order v.2020 will it actually work.
