Hello Guys,
i had a serious engine problem involving pistons, valves and other parts.
I do have a 2014 C7 Z51 package manual 7 transmission.
I need to buy an LT1 engine crate to replace my whole block.
Can you please tell me, or better link me where to get it?
i want a new engine, not refurbished or so.
Thanks alot
Alessio
You need to tell us more about the engine that needs replacing. How many miles on the car? Are you the original owner, and if not, how many owners have there been previous to you? Has everything been serviced regularly as it should be? How has the car been driven over the years?
Just buy your self the new short block then have your heads put on to the block. P.S. if you use your old dry sump set up YOU better pull of the car that full system & have it really really cleaned & gone thur if any small piece's of metal got into the pan..... Robert
Just make sure also YOU remember down the road which water pump this new motor has on it. 2014 was a pig in a pock thing the 2014 is all by itself & if you do anything on add ons you will have to remember with water this new motor is using. Cause if you just tell them 2014 & this new motor is using the 2015 newer water pump parts will not fit..
But you will be good as long as you don't do any blower set up & that type of stuff... Robert
The ad states it has "GM pistons & Mahle rings". Does that mean stock LT1 pistons or LT4 that can take some abuse? I completely agree with the idea though, don't buy stock if a solid rebuilt and upgraded motor is available for a great price.

call jason at katech he can give you all the info on it. They know what they are doing when it comes to building power. You can pm him on here too. He can help you out with what you want or need as well as Texas speed.
Where you located? If within an hour or two of Tune Time Perfornace in Lakewood. That's my buddy's shop. He has all kinds of things... and a five axis cnc machine etc.

The stock pistons are sufficient for that power level. If you're going to be racing it or upping the power level forged pistons would be in order. LT4 pistons are a different story and quite incredible what they can handle. We ran a stock LT5 engine (same as LT4 pistons) to 1486hp before we bent a connecting rod.
