Factory strips are available for one reason = PROFIT. In high school they were cool. Then I grew up and they lost their appeal, In the end it is your car. Do what makes you happy.
YOUR car, paint it polka-dot if you like! Who cares what anyone else thinks?
Btw, there's a "Plum Purple" Challenger in town once in a while with bright orange stripes and such. Not for me, but it IS some serious attention getting and everyone--car person or not--talks about it.
In general, I'm not a stripe fan, but if you are going to do it....
White or Silver, but I wouldn't do the full stripe, just the upper hood into the vent. Then pin Stripe the outside red. Red calipers. Silver wheels
Looks good to me. In my opinion, better than most of the pictures and alternate suggestions proposed here. But that's my opinion only. Yours is the only one that counts. It's your car, do what pleases you. I think the best suggestion here was to consider stripes that are easily removed as I do agree that no stripes will be better than orange stripes for resale.

Hi Mike, finally cooled off down there, right? I was on Sanibel in November and it was brutally hot, not to mention dealing with the red tide dry cough....anyway, I haven't seen that 'stingray' script decal anywhere...can you clue me in on where to look into it? thanks
On that blue, not orange nor red. Yellow if you want to be bold. Yellow goes great with blue. Also get yellow calipers. If not so bold then silver or white, but then you can't get matching calipers because silver calipers look bland and white looks weird.
1) Are you planning on using VetteStripes as your vendor
2) I like the Orange Stripes if you want BOLD
3) Maybe something in the Silver, Graphite, Metallic Gray area if Not So Bold
4) I'm researching using vinyl from Vvivid Vinyl as they have many unique colors , patterns etc
Not sure of the vendor I’m going to use yet. I’m checking at some of the local shops to see what products they use. Some really good info here. I’m still considering the orange. Living in VA, it would be a great Virginia Tech car. I’m leaning more towards the bold camp, but I still may opt for something safe like silver or black stripes. I’m probably leaning 60% towards doing stripes.
The info on Vinyl stripes = Reversible and the suggested MetroRestyling.com had been very useful. Thanks guys.
Stripes/no stripes is like the black/chrome wheels issue, lots of folks are gonna have strong opinions. It's your car so do what you want but onrange stripes on a blue car is probably going to hurt you at trade-in time.
I honestly don’t really care about trade-in value.....especially if I use Vinyl stripes. This car is for me.....I’m not worried about the next owner. BTW, I traded my car that my company paid-for with reimbursed mileage for this car. Free car for a trade-in = $30k Corvette. So......to me, this feels like it was a $30k car. I don’t really care about resale. I paid cash for it, and whatever I trade it for will just be a slight discount on a C8 in a couple years after they get all the bugs worked out and they offer it in a manual transmission.
