Have a 2019 Grand Sport with iron rotors and am tired of all the brake dust. Besides the guy who is posting his over priced ceramic pads everyday, any recommendations-Hawk? Powerstop? Others? Best dealer? Just looking for a good set of ceramics for the street. Thanks in advance.
Thanks all for the replies. I looked around at Hawk and could not get any continuity with part numbers from various dealers. Most either did not have 2019 GS listed or said part does not fit. The Hawk web site only lists the Z51 and no GS or Z06. I emailed them and they said their web site was incomplete. They gave me a couple of part numbers for 2 different front sets but have not been able to confirm the fitment with on line dealers. Its not like I can take them back to my local Advance Auto if they don't fit. Leaning towards Power Stop.

I have a set of hawks to put on my 19 GS. They came highly recommended, all for under $210. Shop around and make sure you get the correct set.
Anybody have experience breaking in Hawk Ceramic pads? I followed all the instructions, lots of scraping noise from all wheels at first. Did the 6-10 moderate 30 mph stops followed by a few harder stops from 45. Seemed to eliminate most of the scraping noise but still get a little on all wheels when applied at slow speeds-5-10 mph. Had my daughter walk along side of the car to confirm the sound is on all 4 wheels. Just a very slight scraping sound. Rotors are essentially new-725 miles. I sanded them lightly with 150 grit then wiped the residue off with alcohol.
The 1st thing I would do is pull off the wheels and make sure the pads were not put on backwards. I have done many brake jobs and never heard a scraping noise.

Keep us posted. I have the same pads to install in a week or so. All prior reports were positive !

100% they are not on backward. Drove 5 miles and would have damaged rotors and probably would not have stopped the car. I think it has to do with materials and break in. Happens on the wheels at very low speed. The fact that it quieted down after the breakin procedure tells me something. Sent a note to Hawk tech. thanks
My bad. I have done brakes dozens of times and never put a pad in backwards. I checked with a mirror and found the left rear inside pad is backwards. The rotor does not have any grooves, just a little roughness that can be sanded out. Appreciate the insight. I think the worst damage may be in the backing plate. Hopefully don't have to order another set. Thanks

OMG. . Thank you for giving us the update. Things happen when we're excited about our new vetts.
It was one of those projects that you take your time to make sure everything was correct. Even rotated the tires and cleaned all the funky Brembo pad crap off the wheels while they were off and put a ceramic wax coat on the inside and outside of the rims. Fortunately the rotor was just scuffed lightly-150 grit paper easily removed. The backward pad had a little bit of damage-started to wear to the rivets. I always put some brake grease on the backing plate and that probably saved me. I will probably get another set of pads later just in case. So everything is fine now. Thanks
