I have three cars equipped with On Star, but it is only activated on the Corvette. I replaced the run flats with AS3+ and we use the car mostly for road trips, so if I have a flat, I can be assured that OnStar will send a reputable service provider. Two, the voice recognition on the factory navigation is totally worthless, so I can just call OnStar hand have them download directions even though I have not updated the maps, turn by turn appears in the HUD. My wife also uses the car and I'm sure this vehicle attracts car thieves and carjackers, so stolen vehicle assistance is a nice feature. An yes you can still lock the keys in your car as the dealer did with mine and I had to remote unlock it.

On my 2019 GS I decided not to subscribe to the OnStar service after the initial free trial period (30 days?). I thought it was way to expensive for what you really get out of it. Similarly, I'm still in the free period with Sirius and once the trial period is up I'm not going to subscribe to it either. I figure I can use other apps off my Iphone (e.g. Spotify) for free rather than paying for my music.

Question for the basic plan I get warnings via email about low tire pressure, low oil life etc. Is it only checked when you start up and running the car? Or is the vehicle health is checked constantly by onstar even when the car isn't on?
Haven't driven the car in awhile I am pretty sure the tire pressure is a little low, but haven't gotten any warnings so I was wondering about that.
