Default Quick jack

Just ordered out a Quick Jack BL 7000 SLX. I think I saw one of our members that had one for his 'Vette a short time back. How are they treating you ?
Thanks,
Rich

I used to get my cars up on jack stands, and it was pretty tense. This is way better! Decent clearance, but you might want to buy a creeper too.

Not bad for other uses too . . .

Also, I do not have a huge garage. So being able to get these out of the way is nice.

To the folks with them, do you still use the pucks. I am thinking not ? just a small piece of 4" X 4" plywood. I won't get mine till the middle of this month, back ordered.

Just watched a YouTube video on these. I see the locking positions now.

I currently don't lift my car often enough to justify these. I was going to start tracking this year.... FINALLY. But now....ugh. Once the world recovers from this COVID nonsense...I may have to treat myself. LOL

I have been using the stay-in-place pucks for a few years. Mainly because I did not quite trust my dealer enough to remember to use some! So technically I am using pucks. Given the thick rubber blocks that come with the jack, I am not sure they are needed, however.

Jon,
That is a great idea . I have garden tractors that I can use them on to change the drive belts.

I would not use wood - EVER! Wood against metal is "slippery" and I have seen countless videos of guys that are pulling and yanking on a wheel or caliper and the car slips right off. Pucks and rubber dont slip...and are much safer.

Can someone take a photo from underneath their car? I would like to see the contact points between the car and the quick jack. Thanks!

Here you go. If you have side skirts, use the pucks.

your getting the 7000? i have the 5000, and mine just barely fits under the car, you may check the height difference of the 7000..

also when mine is not in use i slid them under the car dead center of the parking spot, then i dont need to worry about finding a spot for them, i just slide them into position when it is time to use. then back in when not in use. i feel they are pretty heavy to actually lift up and hang on the wall, not saying you cant do it, but i am old and i would probably throw my back out if i tried it to many times!!

Yes, use pucks AND the rubber blocks that will come with your Quick Jack. I have leave-in-place pucks on our `19 GS, but recently had to lift a friends `19 GS without pucks. Trying to align the rubber blocks so they would not contact the rocker panels or sideskirts was a PITA! With pucks there is almost no way to damage the rockers.
Using a piece of wood is a very dangerous decision...for you and the car.

I am 73 but I act like I am 72 . Besides I have my '19 GS sitting on 3 layers of heavy carpet, raised the car 2 + " so height should not matter too much.
Thanks

Thank you,
I have the home made pucks, I have lifted my '19 GS 3-4 times already with a HF 3 ton long reach jack. I have seen TOO many incidents on this forum not to do something that puts my A$$ and car in jeopardy.
Thank you !
Rich
BTW, it looks like the back is lifted a bit higher than the front ?

Rich,
It's just the angle I took this photo at - on the Quick Jack the car sits perfectly level and balanced. Also in this photo, the QJ is at the first locking position. When at the second locking position, there is plenty of room to slide my Race Ramps under the front tires for added safety. I don't think that is needed, but I too plan on seeing 71!

You still need the pucks and I also used the rubber blocks that come with the jack
The locking mechanism has many stops , Quick Jack as a video of them cutting the cylinders while holding weight and the jack did not flinch
Had my car up on it for 3 days and never worried about it coming down
First day I had stands placed inside of jack just incase but after working on it I did not feel the need . Shook the heck out of the car , it is not moving
