Widebody
Just got my new widebody today.
i was having some issues running ZR1 spec wheels with Z51 narrow body.
car currently in the shop for painting/installation of the widebody.
guess i will need a bit of spacers for perfect fitment tho
Update: everything installed up, fenders line perfectly with ZR1 spec wheels and 30 mm spacers.

i'm still quiet young (29) and i always liked this trend.
probably a senior old school corvette guy in his 50+ year cannot understand or appreciate this.
not problem, to each his own 😎
i post the final result with body matching color.

Right.............. Cannot understand ! Paint the wide body panels the same color as the brake calipers

It is nice seeing someone do something different
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I was saying maybe post an image that is not your car with the work all done so people can see the finished product.
I oddly live up the street from a guy that owns a new NSX (dropped and debadged) that also owns a Ferrari 488 with bolt on wide body panels (rims, dropped and debadged, except the horse)
To be honest I thought it was dumb looking at first, but now it looks sorta cool. I wouldn't do it, but props for being able to drill into a Ferrari! Oh and he daily drives both, in the winter up here in New England. I daily my Z51, but that guys is on another level!
Anyways, good luck with the mod, its a big one.
As for older people not liking it. (I'm 36) I think saying they don't "appreciate" it is the wrong word to use.
It's just not their taste. Like music, art, food... anything. What you like is what you like. Not much to "appreciate" since it is not objectively "better". It's just different.
If you are looking for more traction, there are crazy sticky tires. If you want to run bonkers wide wheels for the look (and some traction) then great. Keep in mind those tires are going to get eye watering expensive.
But if you don't drive it everyday like I do with my Z51, then who cares. Go nuts!

Or if you have the cash, duh, also go nuts!

I got into cars at a young age and entered the car scene when I was 16. Since then I have watched trends among the younger crowds that have come and gone. Many of my friends joke about how things that were "cool" even 10 years ago were just not well executed ideas.
When it comes to the execution of the car you’re building and body mods, integration of the new parts and final build are what really make it. Typically body parts that are bolted on top of other panels, wheels that don’t line up right, spoilers that aren’t painted to match, will look “stuck on”. Ultimately, you get what you pay for (most of the time). I do not believe that exposed bolts are “better” than a clean look. It’s almost always about saving money.
Having said that, (and excuse the pun) it’s never black and white either. Sometimes a chrome wheels works, other times it’s a black wheel. Sometimes exposed carbon fiber plays well into a look, other times it can looks tacked on. In the case of a black car, the exposed bolts are easier to digest and will blend in, so with a solid paint job and properly fitted wheels, it should look good if your goal is to look more like a race car. Within the corvette community, folks will know which option you chose and be more critical, but the Subaru crowd for example, will not. I would think the exposed bolts would be a big hit among the drifting community.
I take exception to comment about the old guys not knowing what’s up because they’re older and not into the new trends…. and I’m not even old lol. Sometimes it’s true because people become set in their ways, but also true is that they might know more because they’ve been around longer. It goes both ways.
Like you said, to each their own. I’m a fan of making a car yours as long as it’s tastefully done and well put together. I have a feeling that this will look good if properly executed,so post up pictures when you’re done as I’m sure it will look good and you’ll be happy. 😊

my body shop just called me to tell that they are surprised of how well this fenders flush the body.
they told me basically they do not need any trim or shave.
they are ready to go, just need paint and installation.
😁

The only slightly negative thing I have to say is that I think you probably could have purchased an actual 2019 ZR1 by now with all of the money you have dumped into your car. Keep the threads coming, plenty of us do enjoy you sharing what you do to your car.
The car sounds mean as hell.
