It is interesting how this single observation hits a nerve for so many. And the intensity of the resulting hurt feelings.

One would think this was an oil thread.

The fastest and easiest way to reduce noise is put a heavy weight in the middle of the floor of the cargo area. You want to keep that surface from vibrating up and down. Most of the noise is at about 110 hz and that frequency travels easily through just about everything. However, you can reduce the amount that surface will vibrate by adding a few pounds to the middle of it or stiffening it or both. I added heavy rods, bars, and tubes to stiffen the surface and keep it from vibrating. It works well. Here is a thread about what I did: Noise Reduction

Like others have said, there are several popular ways to reduce noise so you will have to decide what you think will work best for you.

Agreed. And it was just an observation not a reason for the purchase. I bought my 19 GS to take to the track and enjoy a V8 for the first time I’d grown tired of turbos and superchargers. But I have noticed folks do stop by to comment, ask questions, or take a pic of the car. It’s just a fun side note to the owenership experience.

Gentlemen ... I apologize for even posting my observation ... I had no intention of it taking on a life of its own like some of those oil threads... lol

And at 58 years of age it definitely was not the reason for buying the car ... at this point in my life I don't need that sort validation.

I appreciate all the feedback and respect everyone's opinion ... and to each there own. No worries and a I don't take things personally.

There are more important things these days to worry about. Stay safe everyone.

On a different note, I think this forum is amazing. The level of knowledge from members here and the sheer volume of information and experiences is totally amazing. Glad I decided to go to a corevette and join this forum!

Thanks again!

Mr Livingston I presume..... You are having a bad day... Pandemic in placement getting to you I suspect... I felt similar attention from folks on my fist Corvette drive day!... Scary to say the least!... Never expected or wanted that attention and never received it with my 911s...
I'm aware some people respond to corvette the way you've blurted out!.... I'm a self conscious kind of guy and introverted, but the personal joy of CORVETTE under my *** that first day overrode all care of responses from the likes of yours.... thanks and ease up Francis.

Lighten up Francis. Not his point at all. Pretty sad how some people can interpret things so wrong.

Good for you.

No ego.

eta: I posted this as I read it, not realizing a bunch said basically the same thing before I read it.

No need to apologize !! I have had people take pictures ,smile and give me a thumbs up !
A little neighborhood boy and his dad were walking by the other day and the little boy looked in my garage and said , look daddy he has a "wase car " !!!
We don't ask for the attention ,it just comes with the car !

I bought my Z06 for me, and only me (it was a retirement present to myself).

However, stuff like that happens.

For example, I was in the garage the other day (with the door up), and a UPS driver going by jammed on the brakes and yelled at me: "Nice car!"

I said "Thanks," and he continued on his way. My head did not swell egotistically, and I did not praise myself for buying such a cool car that people stop and compliment it.

It's for my pleasure only - driving, detailing, reading about (on this forum), etc. If compliments come my way, then so be it, but I'm not looking for them!
