Well, I had the car for the first time since I bought it and had it delivered. Its a significantly different driving experience than the Shelby GT500 I traded in for this 2019 Grand Sport.
It was a blast, and I couldn't believe the looks from people. Its a great looking car for sure. The competition seats were surprisingly comfortable and I had my doubts at first.
We don't have the greatest roads but one thing I noticed was the road noise coming from the tires in the back. The rear tires are huge on this car and I expected to get some road noise but was surprised at how much. Is that common? What if anything have some of you done to quiet it down a bit?
Comments like this are confusing. Do you really care about what complete strangers think of you or your car? Seems like one in every five comments are "Turns heads" or "Attention getter". Etc. How about buying your vehicle for you and only you. Why is it so important to impress or draw attention from people you don't even know? Strange to say the least.
Mr Livingston, chill my friend ... lol
I sincerely doubt that at this point in my life I am buying vehicles to get looks from people or draw attention to myself. And I'm pretty sure that when I buy my vehicles they are for me. It was just an observation.

Good on ya @VazO ! I sold my '19 GT350 and picked up a '19 GS as well. Get lots of thumbs-up's from folks...actually more so than I got for my GT350. Enjoy your car and the enthusiastic responses you get!

Road noise from rear is common in these cars. You can dynomat the back or crank up the tunes. I just got my GS Saturday. Have an order in for a Lloyds cargo mat that will add another layer of protection to the back but doubt it will make any difference in the sound.
I have LLoyd custom carpeted cargo mat since day one. Not sure if mat helps but any noise that may be there does not bother me. I leave the exhaust in sport mode and do some 11-12 hour a day drives without issue. But I am the same guy that cannot take super noisy restaurants. So go figure😉
My personal experience is that throwing anything on the back flooring is going to make little difference in most person's perception of noise level. As noted, there are ways to effectively quiet the car, but none are quick or convenient. ENJOY, nevertheless!!!
If I am in a luxury car I could see road noise maybe being a problem.. but in my Corvette I don't notice it really.. I love all the sounds my Corvette makes flying down down the road. Part of the whole package in a sports car.
IF you ever wish to get rid of the road noise to some degree change tires...many have changed to AS 3 Plus...I did since my corvette is a daily driver and get about a month or two of cold weather and snow.

He said he noticed that other people noticed. I didn't see any indication that he was looking to validate his life in their response to his car, nor did he indicate that he bought it to please other people. Sounds like a bad case of projection going on here.
Yes, the C7 does get a lot of attention. It's also a great way to introduce kids to sports cars - I've let a number of young kids sit in my car when their parents bring them over to see it. Now those kids are dreaming about the day they can own a Corvette and know that a lot of us are nice people who love to share our passion!
I bought the car for me - but the fact it gets attention is not a bad thing so lighten up, Francis.
There are lots of threads on the rear noise, and as you might expect the most effective solutions tend to be the most expensive, essentially full sound insulation on trunk floor, fender wells, waterfall behind the seats and the cabin floor.
You can do this yourself if you are handy and have the time.
I've had a Lloyds cargo mat in all of my newer Corvettes and they're very heavy duty and may help cut noise a bit. The Michelin A/S3+ tires are definitely quieter and are an excellent daily use tire for these cars too.
I have 2017 GS with Borla exhaust. Sounds great but rear noise a little loud....but when I drive my 63 with factory style side pipes, now that is some noise and without the overdrive 5sp not sure I could handle it on the freeway. 😀😀😀
Two things.....Get a "Blok-It " mat (heavy dense foam) AND a nice carpeted Lloyd's mat for the rear. I don't like the noise either...so I went to the All Season Michelins and sold the new Run Flats that came on my car. Try the mats first....then switch tires if you want it to be even more quiet.
Vaz...congrats brother. The head turns and attention come with the territory.
There are MANY threads about sound proofing. The product from "crazy cowboy" in central FL is a popular one. I have it. Definitely makes a difference but the C7 will never be a quiet little kitten. The road noise does get muted some by the sound proofing we do...but some will always be there.
If you want to hear your engine FULL time...as mentioned before, pull fuse 42. I think it's 42 on the GS. This causes the exhaust valves to stay in the open position full time. doesn't hurt the car at all.
