CFM is the only way to look at these, how much air comes out at a time...
600 CFM plugged in version, it is loud but it moves some major air.. I put a small foam filter over the end to stop any dirt or sand being shot at my paint at over 100 mph https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B79BD6C
battery power just can not get up to or above 600 cfm...
Leaf blowers are made to blow leaves. They just blow air around. The Master Blaster is made to dry cars. It heats the air first. Right tool for the right job. Don't use a pipe wrench when you need a hammer.
Depending on how hard your water is ( assuming you do not have an inline filter system) it will be proportional to the water spots ....
We do have pretty hard water at our house on the outdoor faucets, will any blower be enough to avoid water spots?
I notice that the touchless car washes around here have big blowers, but they also have a "spot free" rinse before the blower. It would be a bummer to spend the money for a good blower and then discover that I still needed to treat the water.

Im lost.. I thought the speed not volume is more important. I have the 60 buck lowes :

DOUBLE OUCH! Price and the only review on Metrovac's website.
Don't believe everything you read. The $400 price tag is for the Master Blaster "Revolution" model. It's the top model. It comes with front 360 spinning caster wheels, a 30 ft hose, a wall hanger for machine and hose, and 3 filters. You don't have to spend that kind of coin. The only way I could see a negative review is from someone who doesn't know how to properly blow dry a car.
You can get the base model Master Blaster with 10 foot hose and 4 plastic wheels for a lot cheaper. It's the exact same dryer, just less options. I got my base model MB from Chemical Guys. It was $349 and I got 20% off just for joining their mailing list. I applied the discount to my purchase which dropped my purchase price to $279.99. I had to pay just short of $23 for tax but got free shipping. $302.74 was my total price.
I use it on all of my cars and it is way better than using my leaf blower. The heated air makes a big difference. It doesn't just blow the car off, it DRIES it. The more you use it, the better you'll get with it and the faster you'll get at drying the car. Today I washed and dried my Z vert and my GF's Stingray in less than 40 minutes. Not ONE water stain on either car and no water runs. My only regret is I didn't buy one years ago.

Some manufacturers only publish the speed (MPH) at which their blowers blow and not necessarily how much air it moves (CFM). Be sure to check for both values. Gas driven blowers feature both the ability to move debris (MPH) and keep it moving (CFM); this combination of high speed and high volume air output combine to create a air flow that will perform the job and be comfortable to operate. Most gas powered leaf blows can easily generate 400+ cubic feet per minute flow rates with velocities of 170+ mph. This volume of flow is what gets water out of crevices quickly and the reason why heat is not necessary. Dedicated air blowers have nowhere near the CFM volume nor velocity rating a gas leaf blower does. If you want to get the job done quickly and water spot free, go with a 2-stroke gas blower. Never had paint damage from using a gas blower.

No the blower just dries the water up faster, again depending on your tap waters chems ...that is what you will see on your car in the form of a water spot and if it is like mine here in fl you do NOT want to have that happen because you will have to break out the vinegar and the compound...great concept in theory. Some have a not to expensive filter system that is designed to prevent those spots. My car is almost 2 years old. I have washed it twice and that was over a year ago. It is a daily driver and I have almost 19k on it. It gets systematically wiped down each night. The same process I did for the last 2 C7’s , with the right gear you can go wash less.
well anythings got to be better then the back pack weed sprayer I tried to filled with distilled water.. I needed more CFM for that. epic failure.. lol
I do lawn care. My professional Stihl handheld (backup blower) blows air. If I want to dry a car I get my Professional Stihl BR600 backpack blower and I dry a car. While this blower is $$ it is like the blowers in a automatic car wash. The BR600 used to be Stihls top of the line model. They now have an even more powerful model.
