Kevin,
Thank you for asking. I woke up very early Sunday and called for a tow. After some confusion with onstar of whoever the hell I was talking to, the flatbed and I arrived at the car before sunup. We got it unloaded at the dealer and I left the key in the drop box. I went home and online and entered a service appointment request, which was not available until Thursday. I called a couple other dealers Monday morning and they all said they were short handed and it would be a week to get to it. So I was pleasantly surprised when a service advisor called several hours later and said they had worked on it. He said it was out of gas and that they were waiting a couple of days on parts and would have to drop both tanks to install new sensors. He said he would call back in a couple days to let me know where they were. He said I should have it back later this week. So here I sit, patiently waiting. I'm a bit confused about the gas issue because that would indicate that it ran out after putting about 250 miles on about 20 gallons. With no gage, I just didn't think it could use that much fuel when I was chugging down the interstate on four cylinders much of that time. Anyway, I have gotten past my infantile ranting and I patiently look forward some vehicular intercourse, as my wife likes to accuse me of.

When I completely fill mine up it usually says I have about 350 miles to go before empty, so maybe you didn't completely fill your tank and maybe you drove a bit more than 250 miles.
I would not take the dealers word that they topped off the tank. Even if they intended to top off the tank, some kid probably did it and these cars can be tricky to actually get the tank full. I have to turn the fuel filler nozzle upside down to get mine to fill properly. Most difficult car I have ever owned to put gas in.

Well glad to hear they've got a handle on it and you should have it back soon. After enjoying that bad-boy a little while you will have forgotten all about the bad initial experience.
I was thinking it would end up being a shorted wire somewhere, I never thought it was a battery issue from the very first post.

Good point. When I drove my car off the lot I was told it was filled up with gas, but as I drove down the street my 'low gas' warning came on and my first stop was a gas station to actually fill up my tank, lol.
bad fuel level sensor. huh. Well, hopefully that'll take care of it. I think there was someone else on here recently with a fuel indication issue.
Regarding filling her up...like someone here just mentioned...for whatever reason, several C7s can be a real pain in the *** to put gas in. It's not all the time tho. Hreres what happens...
You'll begin filling....and then the pump will auto stop. You think it's full. It mostly likely isn't.
What we do:
1--rotate the pump nozzle upside down. Looks ablsolelty ridiculous...LOL...but 99% of the time this works. OR
2--select a slower rate of fueling. Sometimes that works OR
3--worse case...put in a little and hit another gas station or another pump there.
Our tanks are 18 gal I believe. So if you're near empty, in the red, getting the warnings from the car...you'll only fill 17ish gallons. Most I've ever put in was just under 17 with the warning lights illuminated. I don't make a practice of that...I had forgotten to get gas the day before and was running errands and WHOOPS...ding...low fuel qty message.
The warning will display in the HUD and your main display.
Let us know how she runs after a week or so. Hopefully this fixes it.
I am astounded that your service procedure indicated the primary fuel level sensor and transfer tube were installed incorrectly. You indicated you are the first owner so this would indicate the fuel tank was not properly assembled at the factory. Does anyone else find this to be highly unusual? How can this be possible?
