Now I smell gasoline around the car. Would that be normal?
Considering the work described on your work order I'm not surprised it smells like gas, smell will probably go away by tomorrow.
So all looks good, they didn't damage anything?

I took it back today, they looked it over and believe it was residual odor from dropping the tank etc. I agree. Nothing appears damaged. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge.
Took a little ride with the wife last evening, every thing is rosy in our brand new Corvette. Got up early this morning and fueled it at Quick Trip. I ran the pump on the medium flow setting and it filled all the way up before the pump shut off. Did not "top it off". Brought it home and left it in the driveway. About 1 pm I started it up to sync the sat radio. It was running between 10 and 15 minutes. I decided to pull it in the garage to let it cool off before washing it later after the afternoon sun was gone. Noticed at least a pint of some kind of oil on driveway, can't really say whether its from engine or elsewhere. Go in the house to show wife the oil on paper towel. Go back to garage, see fluid running to the port side on floor. Smells like gasoline. Look under car, can see steady drip drip drip hitting floor. Quick panic on risk mitigation, decide car has to get out of garage. Didn't know how to get in neutral without starting, so started it, backed out, and left in position for flatbed to rescue it.
Back to see the dealer Monday, to be continued, same Bat time, same Bat channel.
Sounds like they left something loose or damaged something. They will eventually get it figured out and repaired correctly. Thus far, knock on wood, I've had very good luck with my local Chevy dealership. The only issue I've had was that the tech doing the alignments on my C6 didn't tighten the suspension adjusters tightly enough and that ended up being a problem as I had to have it realigned (half day+ lost) while leading a club road trip. If you can see it dripping, it should be easy to diagnose.
OP, your 2 threads have been merged together. If you have updates, post them here. If you would like your thread's title updated, just let a Moderator know.

Dealer reports that the tech was reassembling crossover pipe and could not get it to fit up. He consulted tech support and ascertained that the tank [not sure which one] is missing the sealing surface. New tank will not ship from Flint for 2-3 weeks. Observations based on today's "facts":
1. vehicle left factory with defective fuel tank.
2. fuel level sensor failed shortly after delivery to me, resulting in the CEL
3. I ran it out of gas because of combo of no gauge and leakage
4. first trip to dealer for repairs failed to detect defective fuel tank.
5. I took it back after first repair due gas odor, they said it wasn't leaking. So it was the THIRD trip to dealer before it detected defective fuel tank.
6. what I thought was oil on driveway was result of gas dissolving asphalt

I think you need to find a better dealer/service department.

Guess it was just gas condensation like someone said. .
