I know I post a lot about what to buy but its a lot of money so I want to make sure I LOVE the car. I bought my 2019 Mustang GT and have never really LOVED the car. At $540 per month I need to LOVE it.
For a C7 I am really wanting a white convertible, M7, Z51, Velocity red interior. I can do without the Z51 and velocity red interior if a white one with an M7 comes along. Ive found 2 cars. 1 silver vert with an M7 3LT but not Z51 or red interior And this is the other one a forum member found for me thats only about 30 miles away. 2016 . This one has everything I want. I like black but hate keeping it clean and I just think the white looks better. Should I go for the black one since its a unicorn or hold out and hope I can get the color I like the best.

Well, you said you wanted a car to love, so stick with finding the white one you'll love and not a black one.

Personally, for the most rewarding and long term owner experience I'd hold out for the C7 that checks all the boxes for you or as close as possible.
It's a bummer to purchase a car of your dreams just to wish you had make another choice a few months down the road.

Besides, C7s are expensive right now, however prices will most likely start to drop and availability become better after Bowling Green starts spitting out C8s in greater quantities.

By the way, I love red interiors in sportscars as well, so adrenaline red interior was not something I was willing to do without.

Good luck!

Yeah thats what happened with the Mustang. I really dont know why I bought it now. Now Im going to lose my butt on the Mustang.

Ive been calling it velocity red!!! I know its adrenalin red. I dont know where I got velocity!

Is Bowling Green plant back open and producing C8's?

Keep looking, eventually you'll find exactly (or very close) to what you really want. I used Car Guru to find my '16 Vert, Z51, 3LT, White with red.

A word of caution if you haven't already read about it: Some folks (myself included) have had problems with the 3LT dash, lifting up around the defroster vents or getting "bubbles" in it. Mine was out of factory 3 year warranty by 2 weeks. GM paid 2/3rds, me 1/3rd. My cost was $900+. Of course many more folks never have a problem. 2LT would be the way to go.

You need to buy what you want! DO NOT SETTLE.
If you don't. you will wind up regretting the purchase and it will resemble the emotion you have with the Mustang.

I know the feeling.

I bought a Mustang and did all the mods and still didn't like it. A couple of years later and a $15K loss I bought a used Vette and never looked back.

It happens and now you know that you don't like the Mustang, don't lose sleep over it.

Since I’ve read many of your posts in the recent months, I’m assuming your heart is set on getting a c7, and nothing else will scratch that itch. So here’s my advice and experience. Personally, I don’t think the color will matter. This past winter, I set out to sell my 16 all black Z51 and was going to buy a 19 all black Z06. No other color/interior/wheels were an option, all black, that was it. Then I stumbled across my current Z06. As the pic below demonstrates, it is nothing I set out to buy, but fell in love with it instantly. My black z51 was menacing, looked incredible, but not once have I pressed the start button on my Ceramic matrix Z06 and regretted the fact that it isn’t the all black I set out to find. On the other hand, after owning and selling two 5th gen Camaros, I talked myself into buying a c4 as fair weather daily (it was a high school dream car). I just couldn’t get used to that car, just couldn’t love it. That lasted 2 months, I sold it and luckily didn’t take a big bath on it, and bought a 2010 6speed camaro I should have bought in the first place. It’s red, I’m not a fan of red, but it just feels right.

So personally, I’d get the best c7 you can find for the money, and enjoy the rest of the driving season.

I think it would be easier to live with a 1lt option package vs 3lt package vs not getting a color you love. You see the color as soon as you look at the car. So i think getting the color you want is way more important. Unless you find a smokin deal or absolutely want a vette this summer i would wait to buy. Next year the 2021 c8 will be in full effect and the economy along with unemployment house foreclosures will drive down prices. People still haven't realized how bad its going to get.

I pay $540 a month now and dont love the car. Ive got about $5000 in equity on the mustang. I am hoping to get a C7 for no more than $100 more a month. Basically I need to find sometheing the I can negotiate down to $46k.

The black looks really good but is hard to keep clean and swirl marks off of it. The Mustang is black..

Considering your avatar, you know all about black cars. It’s expensive, about $4,500 to $5k, but if you buy and plan on keeping a black C7, I’d highly recommend Xpel. It will make life so much easier as far as surface scratches and imperfections are concerned. Good luck to you, hope you get something you’ll love and enjoy.

I'd buy what I could afford. Might be a financial decision, rather than an auto decision.

I concur with the others on here... if you were 65 and knew this was the last corvette that you could physically manage to get into and out of ... then I would say hold out. However... once you are bitten by the Corvette bug, and become a “member of the club” and this car endears itself to you .... there will be time for all of your preferences to line up on others ...maybe one of the wide body C7’s ( Grand Sport or Z06).
A lot of people go looking for these cars ..... mine have always found me. Two C6’s and three C7’s...tip your toe in the pond brother ...you’ll be swimming in no time and opening the garage door to make sure it is not just a dream..welcome brother ...all the best

For the money you are going to spend no sense in compromising on what you want.

Hey buddy looks like you are still searching, honestly with the market where it is now you might just want to hold off for a season and let the c8s get out there to help pump up the c7 inventory....i know it sucks but don’t want to get beat up on your mustang trade and over pay for a vette ther potentially isn’t exactly what you want.

i dunno buddy maybe keep looking and see if you find a gem?

Bingo. Buy the car that checks off all (or as many as possible) boxes for you. Otherwise, you may end up regretting buying the car.

OP, Have patience. Take your time. Search for the Corvette of your dreams. In my opinion, it's worth the wait.
I took me over four months to find the used C7 I wanted, but it's exactly the car I wanted and I'm glad I bought it every day.

Six months to find mine. Just be patient and prices will soften a bit in the fall as they do every year. I would definitely never compromise on exterior color.
