That was fast! The C7 is a car that feels and looks special. It feels like a true sports car. The BMW feels like a nice and beastly every day car. I chose the C7 over the M3 or M4 after renting both C7 and M3.
That being said, people think you're more rich in the M3/M4.
I like the M2 and its four seats and sporty sedan thing but still I don't get it... my family van drive is more "refined" than the Corvette's. That is the point....!?
Nice. BMW gets bashed here a lot. Ive owned many and currently have an X5 as my crappy weather car. Also have a Trackhawk. The X5 has been very reliable. My E36 back in the day never had one issue. The straight 6 was one of the smoothest engines ive experienced. Not digging the new huge kidney design.
To me a BMW is just another car, nothing special. The M series adds some gingerbread to spice up the design, but they all look like boxes to me and are indistinguishable from most cars on the road. I was a passenger in a M series a few years ago and my recollection is that it had fake engine noise piped in through the car's stereo. OTOH if a guy has a family and likes performance, an M3 is a great choice since it has a functional rear seat.
My son in law has a 2020 M2 and loves it and its white. He's already done suspension lowering, track alignment, etc. He traded in a Bmw 340 with twins and had it set up for tracking also. He is also an instructor and really likes the BMWs. We have a new 3.8 mile road course thats opening in about May or June and we can see who's car track better. I think his will cause I can't drive like he can.

Mine runs ok, 11.18@125 ain't too bad for a basically stock C7 with Headers, xpipe and E85. I went with him to a BMW event and they were auto crossing 340 and I finished 3rd in my class and he finished 4th, he actually beat my time by a couple tenths but he hit a cone. I was only 68 years old then and the oldest in my class, still gotta keep those reflexes working and helps me also cut good reaction times at the drag strip. I've never road raced anything so it will be a new experience for this old turd. I'll probably stick to drag racing after a couple times a the new road course.

Nothing more fun than driving a vette on a road course. That new one opening near you sounds like an awesome track. My prediction is you will love the road course. Keep yourself in shape and continue to do what you love. And don’t let those young guys push you around LOL.

Don't be surprised if you find yourself spending less time at the drag strip after your first track days. Consider the fun and excitement for just 11 seconds, in between long waits in the staging lane and similar thrills for a full 20 minutes at a time, 3 or 4 times in a day.
From one old turd to another, give it a shot and above all.... have fun.
IMO you took a big step backwards with the M2 as far as style, power, reliability as it ages, and panache (yes panache- as a 2 series BMW is basically an entry level model albeit with a larger engine-while a vette is a vette and has a separate niche).
Congrats oncoming to your senses (LOL) as your GS is gorgeous. Enjoy!
I am interested in your reasons for switching back.
You will not be disappointed with a Grand Sport.
As stated above the M2 did not fill my sports car enthusiasm, the vette is a true sports car right from the driving position to the awesome power and looks. M2C has refined power and drove more like a sports sedan and not a sports car although the engine was very good and sporty.

Thanks, i can tell you the M2C is the best M car i had owned, had 2 F80's and this was much sportier than the M3's
