I use sprayaway with a magic eraser or artificial clay thing. Second pass with glass cleaner and mf towels. Follow that with adams brilliant glaze. This last bit leaves it clear and streak free.
btw: I hate cleaning the inside of the windshield.
Stoners Invisible Glass is pretty much the hands down pick for general use by many detailers.
If the glass really has a bad film on it, then Angelwax Vision cuts through it pretty well.
There’s also a microfiber pad on a wand thing that I use to get way down in the front of the windshield. Pretty much the only way to get that strip of glass right in front of the HUD bezel.
Whatever cleaner you use you need to find out first if it is ammonia free if you have windows that are tinted. Better check first or you'll pay the price.
Order this and don't look back, best glass cleaner I have ever used hands down. Just soak it in plain old water and ring out as much water as you can, then clean your glass.
I had great success with a glass cleaner on an microfiber towel and then a clean MF towel wet, and squeezed as dry as I could get, it to go over the windows. The remaining moisture cleans any remaining film and leaves nothing, and dries immediately.
Infrared radiation creates off-gassing of the plastic dashboard and all other components within a vehicle. These out-gassed plastic molecules get into the air and then condense on glass surfaces. I have tried every windshield cleaner there is and none will clean this film from a window without streaking. I finally have found a product that does clean the windshield spotless without any streaking. It is also as a great general purpose cleaner and works great for grease and oil. Great cleaner to use in the garage. I mix about 1-2 fluid ounces of Lestoil in a small pail of warm water. I'll use a small plush microfiber towel and wet the towel by immersing the towel in the pail and then ring it out so the towel is dampened but not dripping. I'll then clean all the windows in the vehicle inside and out with this towel. I'll follow up with either a paper towel to dry or use another dry plush microfiber towel. Either will work well. This cleaner just melts away grime on any surface and will leave your windows spotless. It's the best cleaner I have found anywhere. You can find it in many grocery or hardware stores. Give it a try. I'm sure you will become a big fan.
