Ok an update, I finally got the top almost to 100%. I used 5000 grit and wet sanded for a while the rough compound, fine compound, polishing compound and then polish looks almost like new. Now for the dash Its been to cold to do much but I have pics to show where its at right now.
The radio has been good for a while now. I got info from a facebook C7 site and messed with the wires in the drivers kick panel area, must have been loose, there is a module for the radio there. Hopefully soon I will be able to work on the dash as temps start to warm up

This was the fix for my random radio issues and blacked out infotainment screens problems too.

The HMI module wiring harness connects right above the dead pedal, plus the hood release cables push up against those wires too. Apparently this results in the connectors / wires wiggling loose. All I know is when I re-seated those connectors all my random problems went away and haven't come back in over a year!

It sounds to me that this car had been kept in the sun for a good part of its early life before you. The leather lifting is usually caused by heat, the clear coat could be also caused from the heat. The clear top issue could also be caused by heat I'm not sure on that one. I know the paint is designed to last at least 10 years per the corvette tour I took in 2014 when I got mine. You may have some leverage with GM on this. I will say after 6 or 7 years most cars will have some issues. Most don't have leather dashes or clear tops to worry about. I hate to say it. My my experience with 1 Lexus and 3 Toyotas have assure me they better products, but they are no corvette! My GM trucks have continues problems and the Toyotas we just drive and change the oil.

Best of luck

The car did come from Florida. I dont know it history other than it appeared to have been well taken care of.

I know this is an old post. I am just updating what is happening. I have gone to upholstery shops all over the area. driving up to 100 miles no shop would touch it other than just doing a dash replacement at a cost of $4000.or more So I had one more place I checked with. I went there and the owner is 78 y/o not that means anything, but he said he could repair the dash. I went there today to finalize the repair date. What he is going to do is take all the black leather that has shrunk cut it out. Originally, I had talked to him about using leather in the repair after a discusion with him its possible the even the new leather will shrink and pull up. What we decided was to replace the leather with a marine vinyl. It wont shrink and will be hard to tell from the leather without the problems. I know its nos not factory and its not real leather but if this holds up it will be great and the dash will look great again. The cost should be around $500. The car goes in Monday and should be done by the end of the day. I will post pics and the name of the shop that is doing the repair then. The Vette now has 102k miles and going strong.
