I am looking to purchase a ZR1 bumper conversion for my Z06. From what I've read the polypropylene is the better product for long term and is the product of choice for most new cars. Problem is that 9 out of 10 I find available to purchase is made from polyurethane. The one I want is for sale from Corvette Mods but I hate to invest $1000 with a company that has received so many bad reviews for their service. My question is should I be that concerned with the material choice or is the information that I have been reading gotten me concerned for no reason? Thanks everyone
Took a look around the world wide interweb and the general consensus seems to be that polypropylene is the superior product and is more expensive. Apparently polypropylene is typically the OE material of choice. The primary problem that was discussed relative to polyurethane is that UV will harden it over time, then it tends to crack.
Keep looking! If you order it from CorvetteMods, I doubt it will be what you want, if you even get anything at all. Read the reviews on the forum. Anyone that reads them, will keep very far away from doing business with them!
