Like I said above these batteries are GARBAGE. Johnson Controls last year sold their power division and they are now made in Mexico.
Mine stopped holding charge after just 9 months, see date code below. It was replaced for free but really; NINE MONTHS!!!
If you have a good one is because it was made in USA before they closed and moved to Mexico. Look it up.

I was hell bent on getting a Optima until I ran across a YouTube video about them turning to garbage so I did more research and it saved me $300 bucks for a crap battery.
I bought a Optima right before the sema discount code expired.
I meant I bought a Odyssey battery not a damn Optima haha.
After having some strange problems with my 2014 stingray, I took the car to "The Corvette Mechanic" in Middletown Ct. He noticed the AGM battery in the car and said that IS NOT the correct battery for the car. A #48 class lead acid battery is the ONLY correct battery for the car. He said the car CANNOT correctly charge the AGM battery and can mess up the values in the BCM. I had noticed some high charging readings since putting in the AGM and now am looking to change the battery out. Although the car seemed to run ok, when he was looking for certain values from the BCM he was not finding them anymore. This man is probably one of the top Corvette specialist in the nation, lives, breathes, and trained on all corvettes and has a web site. If he says NO AGM's there's good reason.
There are many C7 owners using AGM batteries. If I lived in the frozen tundra of North Dakota I would continue to use a flooded lead filled battery. If you're a southern boy AGM is fine. Also, numerous battery maintainer/chargers can work with AGM batteries. The CTEK 3300 indicates in their manual they can charge the AGM. However in cold climates of northern Idaho I would use a CTEK 7002 which has what they call "snowflake mode" and will charge a battery at a lower Voltage setting when temps drop below 41 deg F. You don't want to fast charge an AGM battery.
Ditto to all of that. The Optima in my C6 was connected to a Battery Tender most of the time and was still going strong after 9 years when I sold it. Try that with an OEM!
If the C7 charging system cannot charge a AGM battery correctly why did my C5 Z06 come from the factory with a Delco AGM battery in 2003. That battery lasted for 7 years.

Do you know it was set up to charge this type of battery from the factory? It will also depend on the charging demands based on how the car is used. Can only report on what industry standards are. If you think they are good for the C7, go for it.
My apologies for passing through looking for information about the performance of the Optima H7 batteries and read through the whole discussion....
It might be helpful to know that GM dropped a TechLink document about factory batteries and you may be shocked to see how many are absorbed glass mat....
EDIT: Interesting to note that all Camaro models, including the LT4-equipped ZL1, use AGM exclusively. However all Corvette models, including LT4 engines, use flooded lead acid exclusively. (I use the LT4 as the best apples-to-apples comparison point I can think of)
I used to be an Optima fan with three of my previous Vettes getting Red Top Or Yellow Top versions BUT they got even more expensive AND it was truly a pita to get an Optima to fit into
that pita location in back......
I did also, in my findings, see over on ColoradoFans the following commentary:
The big caveat is that our trucks don't have an option to switch to or from FLA or AGM charging profiles. So, if you swap out/upgrade to an AGM but the charging profile is for FLA, then the AGM battery will work but it won't last as long as it could. The only way to change this charging profile is by flashing the BCM.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
