Criticism of C8 body design, for me, harkins back to the early criticism of C7 body design and its innovative departure..... Initially displeased, I now admire the long hood and traditional "roadster" look of the 7.... It grew on me big time, it did take awhile too...but I don't know if there is time for mid engine to ever tickle my fancy....I'm old like W. C. "They're nice to look at but I wouldn't want to own one." sorta thing...... Go Roadsters!

Many valid points some do agree on.I seen them.Thinking they will look better? Just can't give up a true roadster.Clean rear deck is well,American.

Mr. Hagerty’s assessment is spot on. When I first saw the C8 I liked the overall design but the side scoop stuck out like a sore thumb. It looks like a big piece of plastic, which is exactly what it is. Too bad there’s no color options. If you could order it body color, it would improve the appearance.

CHIP is right, but the real reason the C*8 exists - and why it looks like it does - is that it was really designed as an electric car....in five years E-Vettes will dominate...you'll see!

I like what TheSketchMonkey did here, envisioning the c8 as an evolution of the front-engine layout. He also did a video redesigning the c8 rear.

Interesting stuff, many companies do mid engine way better . In time maybe the C8 will become more coherent well thought out and sleek design.. let's hope that happens before the electric garbage.. I guess I am old school.. love a V8. I could care less if electric went from 0 -1000 in 1 second.. I "ain't" owning the freaking things lol

Default Midengine Sexy

Still no real roadster.Clean flat back.At how much Cash?
European Styling hardtop vert.

That huge air intake, even in darker hiding colors is so out of place.

Europeans hide it better

A slight price difference

The area of most...Uck

I am no fan of electric cars at all, but that is EXACTLY where the industry is going. The decision has been made for us whether we like it or not. All in the name of Global Warming.

I don’t like the c8. I didn’t originally order a c7 zr1 and decided to keep my z06 until the c8 came out. I was really looking forward to a mid engine corvette. When I first saw it at corvettes of Carlisle(2019) I was extremely disappointed. I figured it would grow on me. Went to Carlisle(2020) and really still don’t like the c8. There was a Sebring orange zr1 with the ztk package there and I was blown away by it. I kept going back to look at it. It was at that moment I decided that I was going to get a Sebring orange zr1. Maybe the c8 will be the mid engine that I fall in love with. Time will tell but for now I’m in love with my c7. Oh yeah, one more thing. I love driving a stick shift in my for fun vehicles.

Foose is a master. Moving those side scoops back makes the C8 look tons better. They need a total redesign on the back though. The pics of the blue one are also a huge improvement.

It's sad in a way, but Corvette is moving on in search of new, younger generation buyers.
For me (born in the 1970s) the C1 and C2 mean nothing (sorry, no offense to the faithful). I just have no connection to them and find their styling to be "old". For me the Corvette began with the C3... however I was lusting after the Countach The C8 needs to look more like that to appeal to a younger audience: sharp angles, wild scoops, wedge shapes, jet fighter looks vs the smooth curves and organic forms of earlier cars. Remember we went thru the same thing with the C7's lack of round tail lights. This was a crime against Corvette but that design element was also holding it back - because nobody does boring circle tail lights anymore.

You can get the side intake in body color - and it helps some, but its still an eyesore.

Overall I am beginning to wondered if the huge side intake wasn't done on purpose since it screams mid-engine. This design element makes it very apparent where the engine is now. The scoop doesn't have to be that big as evidenced by something like the Boxster, so why else would they make it so obvious? Objectively in terms of aero you want as few and as small openings in the body as possible, however in terms of cooling you want the opposite. Design and styling is the subjective way of balancing those two requirements.

I hate having things rammed down my throat, especially when they don't make sense to my limited intellect, however, as I get older I have learned that this is the new definition of progress.
