FYI: in some forum reply it was recommended to remove the 'Range' device and drive for 50 miles before service and car inspection. A person removed it and immediately had the car inspected and it failed. Drove some and had inspected again, passed.

Mine should be arriving today. I figure I have put if off long enough. My car is not a DD and is used either stop and go traffic to work or interstate. Normally on the interstate I put it in M. Now I will just plug in the Range device and not worry.
[QUOTE=Bills17n72;1603071409]ok guys im thinking about buying a range unit for my car ,it keeps the motor from switching it from V-8 to V-4 I think you just plug it in ,and do you leave it plugged in all the time , just wondering how you all like it ,thanks have a good weekend! Bill[/QUOTEust
Does the Range unit keep the exhaust sound management from going into "quiet" mode with the A8 transmission?
with the range unit plugged in ,before you start your car do you have to let it reboot itself ,or can you just get in your car and start it up and go? Bill

Hi if that question was aimed at me I don’t know the answer . There is too much snow for me to try it out in my car
but I’m sure someone can weigh in on your question 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

When you start your car it will flash for approx 5 seconds, I wait longer than that to take off range or not
I have a 2015 C7 A8 Z51 Stingray, I had the stuttering transmission under light loads and took it to the dealer a couple of years ago. They did the triple flush and replaced the fluid and no problems until this week. After about 7000 miles, my powertrain warranty ceased and it started again. I just ordered the Range unit and hope to receive it this week. It is very irritating to have that little stutter when accelerating lightly. I look forward to receiving the device and will provide an update later.

drive it with the paddle shifters. If it still does it the range device won’t help.
C7Pipeliner: I suggest you change the fluid again. You can change the fluid yourself.
Who knows, did the dealer do a single or triple flush, did the dealer use the latest fluid, did the dealer get all the fluid exchanged.
You can use a fluid-pump to pump the old out and the new fluid in. Good, cheap enough, and worth it.
unfortunately I don't believe the range will fix the problem if used early or B4 Shutter it will prevent the problem. But what bruce said is true using paddle shifters will keep car in V8 mode hence same as having range plugged in. Hope I am wrong Good Luck
