I worry bout vandalism just as much as the next person, but not once have I ever thought "eco worriors" were the threat. It's just something expensive. Period. These cars get great gas mileage compared to a lot of trucks.

A friend of mine was at an event and a drunk guy was caught keying his Corvette. The guy basically was angry that he can't afford a car like it so he thought he'd punish the Corvette owner for flaunting such a nice car where he could see it. Sheesh..

I have had my ‘14 vert for 3 years now and fortunately have never experienced any vandalism occurring while it’s been parked. The wife and I go on many outings and road trips and have been lucky so far. We even just got back from a 4700 mile Rte. 66 trip that had us staying in a different hotel every night...and no vandalism whatsoever.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed my good luck continues

I too usually get the "thumbs up" - not long ago a great-looking blonde gave me the "finger" - I did NOT think it was an invitation....

Parenting, just bad parenting .. These types of haters (the ones that abuse Corvettes) were small children once...would-a, could-a been a car guy/girl but...... Bad Parenting gave em a bumpy start.... We can help... "Save the children - punishment to the parents"... *** Holes.

No problem yet here in MN! Fingers crossed. I did have one day where I parked way out (like usual) in the lot, only to come out to find some wreck parked REALLY close to me. Making a statement or just having fun I guess, but no damage or door dings.

Sooner or later, with enough exposure, it's a slam dunk. Corvettes are predator targets.

I am taking the opposite view. Most love the corvette. They see it as a sport car that most with a decent job or some sacrifice can own. I had stuff thrown at me when I had my MB - also had girls lift their shirts....most just love the corvettte...no lift shirts however. Perhaps, cause I am older now.

I agree. Most people treat the Corvette with respect and are careful around it. And kids always do a double take.

He's just saying what can happen and it comes with the territory, in any territory I might add, it's a universal thing. This weekend, I've had 2 vehicles instead of slowing down or stopping like a regular person would these 2 angry drivers purposefully accelerated towards me giving me only inches to maneuver trying to scare me off or ram me. They used their vehicles weapons and it could of turned out badly.

Jealousy is real. Haters are real.

I'm not sure if I'm confounding the two but I associate haters with those idiots at rush hour who do dangerous crazy stunts to get to work 3 minutes faster. I now leave after rush hour to get to work.

You're out of line with that post.

it is quite bad out there that at times I wonder if it is even worth owning nice things, they are subjected to both intentional and unintentional damage

Since owning the car I have a new perspective on how people react to them. I used to take a particular street to go home, there's a homeless shelter right at the red light and nothing would happen in my rusty truck. I used the vette 3 times on that street and twice some of them came out prancing around the car, the last one literally poked his head in the passenger window within inches of my face. I stopped using that street.

At red lights in the market I used to stop at the line but now I make sure I'm like 10 feet away from the same line otherwise a few people crossing the street came close to stepping on the splitter. I saw some of them go out of their way getting close in front just hoping to break something pretending it was an accident.

Still I won't deprive myself of having nice things, the Vette is a stress reliever from work. I'd be sad to have the money in the bank account doing nothing. Although some nights I get a hater it ruins the evening but other days I'm having a blast especially when I see super cars on the road.

for sure and make the most out of her - I had driven my C6 through 9 Provinces and 1Territtory - not a single issue, however, when she was one year old I was buying a coffee in a plaza and a piece of metal flew off the roof and hit my car (fate)
