Any C7 owners experience a “key job” after parking at a public location?
My car was victim to this with its prior owner. Was fixed very nicely and hardly noticeable now.
What’s the experience of my fellow C7s ? Do you find your car more susceptible to vandalism?
Is this something you consider a more likely possibly simple because it’s a Corvette?
I have two Corvettes and I'm grateful this has never happened to me and it's sad that some owners have to deal with that kind of aggravation. I don't think it's so much Corvette-related as it happens to other nice or perceived expensive sports or luxury cars. Haters are gonna hate and by damaging the vehicle, their act of vandalism is their perceived small-minded justice hitting back at "the man" holding them down.
Like I said, I never had a scratch, but somehow a few years ago, I lost half of the stainless steel Corvette letter inserts I had on my C5 vert after attending a mixed car show and parking next to a pack of Mustang owners. Coincidence?! I think not!

Both of my bought new Corvettes suffered vandalism events. Part of the risk that comes in owning one.
Our C5 torch red vert. got keyed in front of a friend’s house. Older neighborhood with house 20’ from curb. Broad daylight.
What's crazy is with all these eco-warriors out there these days, I see vandalism against sports cars and other "killers of the environment" increasing as the rhetoric heats up.

Amazing. I would just call the police and try to take a photo if someone tried this with my car, but some guys might just pull their concealed carry pistol and open fire. (I don't recommend this by the way, as it would be too much trouble to beat the resulting charges.)
As an example of the possible danger to someone who does this, a couple of teens in my neighborhood were harassing a homeowner, a very nice guy. I finally managed to get their attention and said, very calmly, something along these lines: "You know, this guy probably would be happy to be your friend rather than having you try to intimidate him for no good reason, but you also should know that he is a combat veteran, and he has killed people."
They earlier had tried the same thing with me, and I had said essentially the same thing, that I was happy to be their friend, but it was their choice.

I have been very fortunate over the Years.
Not sure that I have done anything special to avoid it because people who do these sort of things can be found just about anywhere.
Would definitely hate to have it done and not sure how I would react if I caught someone in the Act.
I've had dozens of sportscars (mostly Corvettes) over the last 44 years and none have ever suffered any vandalism. KNOCK ON WOOD
I've had a couple incidents of doors being banged against mine but I'd called that more stupidity and blatant disrespect of others property than vandalism.
One event was my new 1977 Corvette (below) vandalized at my upscale apartment complex, under my reserved spaces, open carport in Germantown, Tenn. 1977.
The other (my new 2017) in 2018 was nightime at a suburban restaurant row eating establishments in full bright lights parking lot, well away from other cars. 3 miles from my home. (2017 in my avatar....)
30 years of Corvettes as daily drivers - 970,000+ miles never a problem
300,000 miles in Porsches - never a problem
60,000 miles in Ferrari - never a problem...
I've been lucky so far but it's getting to the point the only time either of my corvettes is out of my sight is if I need to dash into the gas station/convenience store. Seems to be a growing number of dirtbags out there.

The only time I have ever had a problem with someone messing with a Corvette I owned was when I had a '79 and someone tried to steal it when I was doing my Navy Reserve drill weekend in St. Louis. Stopped them from taking it, but not before some damage was done. Never had anyone mess with my C7 but then again, I have never left it sit outside overnight and am careful where I park at all times.
My friend bought a NEW 1984 black vette off the lot and drove it to a Florida-Georgia football game here in Jax Fl.
Some one or a group, poured a gallon (or more) of red paint all over it during the game (Go bulldogs,,,right). He stayed up all night and somehow got most of it off. He still has the car today.
