Ok so I wanted to get a second opinion on this one. I put a Vararam air intake on my 2014. The intake itself is ok looking and seems like a well built piece but I was not happy with the PCV hookups to the valve covers . Basically rubber hoses with hose clamps to the drivers valve cover and rubber hose with hose clamp to the dry sump tank. Seemed cheesy. I took the oem PCV lines and measured the OD of the hard plastic line and the ID of the rubber hose noticing they were very similar. I cut the oem hardline, reused the factory connectors to the rubber hose from Vararam and think it looks way better. It was a snug fit dry and I put some RTV on the hardline to make sure it was fully sealed. Once that cures I’m gonna start it up and check for leaks but wanted someone else to take a look and see what they think. I even reused The foam insulator on the drivers side to cover up the gates wording on the hose. On the passengers side you can see the seam right above the alternator
I want to do something similar. Mine is still under warranty so I'm going to hunt down the fittings to buy another set. That way if I need to take it in for warranty service I can switch back to the stock intake.
I like it...and I was having the same meh feeling about Vararams's hoses. On my car, the driver side elbow connector from Vararam is a bit tall. It's leaving a dent in the hood liner. I think I'll do some surgery like you did...eventually.
