Default Soler Throttle Controller -- again!

If you are tired of people singing Soler's praises, you might consider just moving onto the next post. After reading everyone's reviews here, I decided to give it a shot. I do not have the throttle body; just the controller. What a difference! When everyone say's it is the best mod or it should be your first mod, I agree.

I love my Corvette as much as any of us, but it was just missing that same feel I would get when I drove old school muscle cars and performance cars. It's great, but to get the thrill of driving a sports car, I felt I was really mashing the peddle down to wake it up. This addition really gives me the feel I had hoped for when I bought the car. That "almost-scary, wow, this thing is a beast" feel. And I am not even talking about the Ludicrous mode.

I did a lot of cosmetic mods and I added a Borla exhaust, but my Vette is stock otherwise. Adding the controller really does make it feel like a different car to me and I am glad there are so many settings to adjust - although I am the type to find the one that works for me and not fuss with it much after that. Also, I installed this myself and it was incredibly easy. Trust me, you don't want me working on your car, so anything I can do to the car myself helps satisfy my inner grease-monkey wannabe, :-)

Anyway, everyone's reviews always help me when I am looking for the next thing to do, so I hope this one might help someone who is considering this inexpensive 'mod' that really delivers on its promise of a thrilling ride!

What is your favorite setting thus far? I like SP6 on the street. Last week I was on the track and forgot set to lower setting . . . took me a couple of sessions to figure out why I was losing traction on the rears, LOL.

I was skeptical of throttle controllers as well, but loved it immediately.

I'm an SP 5 guy so far, but I have to play some more before I settle on "the one."

I stay in Sport7 and I had to build up to that and I am very comfortable there now and generally won't go past SP9/Lu1. . LU - Ludacris mode is insane and your rears can't handle any sudden acceleration without the nannies kicking in and rears kicking out.

Does the TC ever cause any check engine lights and is it easy to uninstall to get back to factory settings?

if it does unhook the battery for 5 minutes. Should clear any codes. Happened when I put it in and has not done it again since.

The uninstall would also be very simple if you should run into any problem.

I have never gotten a check engine and I’ve had two different brands.

I started with SP6 , then I got used to it fairly quickly.
I am currently on SP8 and happy with it.

Yes. Just leave the door open until the dome lights time out, which means the Soler is no longer powered, then you can remove the soler and reconnect the original harness to the throttle as it used to be and reinstall the throttle.

Here is a more robust comprehensive threat about the Soler Throttle Body and Soler Throttle Controller for those of you who want to learn more and also the owner and designer speaks and answers question at this thread link below. I also posted my post from the same thread which is the read print below.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...version-5.html

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...y&p=1601767605

"I switched my Stock Throttle Body to a Ported Tony Mano Throttle Body and saw a big difference in responsiveness. However, I had been reading so much about the Latest and Greatest in Ported Throttle Bodies which is the Soler Performance Throttle Body in which everyone that tried it loves it. Last week I received and swapped out my ported Tony Mano TB and Vitesse TC to the Soler TB and TC. I have to say "WOW", it almost took my breathe away and felt like an entirely different car. Talk about taking out the lag while taking your breathe away! The Soler Throttle Controller has has a wide range of modes and not limited to Eco, Sport and Ludicrous modes and as you dial the numbers up on the dial, YOU BE BETTER RESPECT the response and power as it can get away from you.

Keep in mind, I was very pleased with my 2020 A&A Supercharger install performance but wow, the Soler TB and TC takes it up another notch and a great combination "BUT" I know that I have to remain discipline and sensible and not get to excited and find the right settings that allows me to get on it and manage within my driving skills. I can see you getting so excited with the performance and responsiveness that you forget to respect the performance and I can see why GM doesn't unlock the true performance capabilities in the stock car as they probably don't want the liability of someone not respecting the power.

I strongly recommend Soler Throttle Body and Controller if you are in the market! The Tony Mano Ported Throttle and Vitesse throttle Controller both were a Great combination for me and if you are looking for one I will list them for sale in the near future if you are interested.

Oh Yeah, Mike, my OEM Stock Throttle core as the trade-in was placed in the mail yesterday and it says you should have by Thursday according to the tracking!

Kyle

I am still not quite sure about OP statements. I understand you love the controller but are you bashing the Throttle Body? I see in your post you do not, or have not owned one? The throttle bodies real purpose on a car like my Z06 is to remove the supercharger lag/hesitation and give the gas pedal a more connected linear feel to it. I am not aware of the Soler TB's effect on the non-supercharged engines, as I have never driven one with it installed before or after. There are no modes or claims to any huge performance gains or drastic changes in modes .. it is a subtle change that changed my Z06 beyond my expectations. Having a connected smooth throttle with no hesitation is something I did not have on my Z06 before the TB. I may try the controller down the road, but smoother helps me drive faster in the corners in the long run.

Why are you guys stalling the engine to need such device. Sure, my 19 C7 has a slight hesitation off of first gear but that can be finessed by the trottle and clutch, nothing hard. Chevy has made a race car and everything is for a reason. Instead of changing the car, I change my technics. I also see no issues on 2nd to 7th gear up or downshift. Even the 1 to 4th gear skip
