I installed the throttle body and controller last night. I took the car to work today and noticed a huge difference in throttle response. I set the controller to SP5 but I'm probably going to dial it down for everyday driving because in heavy traffic it feels a little to touchy. I'm really impressed with the difference.

You will get use to it and I originally was at SP5 and dialed up incrementally and ride daily at SP9 and it's great. SP9 would be much to start of with but I think over time things adjust and settles down as SP9 behaves well and not touchy to me but again I am not in heavy traffic. I tried to go to Lu1 but that mode makes me nervous because it kicks out and nannies kick in if you over throttle.

Mike,
I installed the LT4 version, that I purchased in June 2020, and was very happy with the results. I have since swapped over to a ProCharger D1X centrifugal supercharger. Is the airflow through the TB different when it's pressurized 13ish PSI than when it's sucked through? The shop doing the work was chasing a surging issue (Idle-3000 RPM). They said swapping out the Soler LT4 TB for a stock TB completely resolved the surging?
Have you heard of this issue?

We just sent this to your email.

" It shouldn't do that. We'll cover that under your 1-year warranty. Please send it over and we'll do whatever is needed, even if it takes sending you another part.

When idling, the air is mostly being sucked, as usual, the supercharger shouldn't be doing much if anything at all at that point.

If the problem only happened after adding the supercharger, then I'd suspect the tune. On the other hand, our parts have always worked wherever the OEM TB works, especially at idle. So we'll assume there's something wrong with our part and take a look at it.

Thanks,"

So this is where we stand now, we have added darker engraving, improved airflow percent here a percent there, getting better by the day...this is our LT1, but the same applies to any of our other parts.

Just in case anyone is looking for a present for themselves - or *PRINT THIS OUT AND GIVE TO YOUR WIFE*
I installed the Soler throttle body yesterday in my 2019 C7 Stingray Automatic - and I am totally surprised how it makes such a difference in the personality of the car during the first 2 or 3 inches (per tech specs 0% to 30%) of gas pedal travel... ! This car always felt "sleepy" or like it had a small bog until it reached 2+k RPM's - not terrible, but not spirited.

By only changing the throttle body - to the size that does not require a new tune - my car is now "woken up" in that 0% to 30% of travel range. (wanted to preserve my warranty by not having to do a tune which the larger bodies likely require)
I actually feel like the car has more confidence pulling out in traffic from a stop. Now from the moment i press the gas pedal, the car just goes in what strikes me as a linear fashion,, it's not scary fast or out of control - but just confident and "on rails"... not sure if its just in my mind or in reality - but i swear it feels like when i accelerate at that low range of throttle, the car would down shift more often prior to the change - now it just goes without downshifting. Tip for those with a son, daughter or even spouse - wait for them to have an extra half hour and install it together (15 mins to find the tools and 15 mins to do the install). I actually waited 4 MONTHS for my son to visit so we could do that together - never been that patient in my life! small aside: Last month I was at Spring Mountain and on their track, of course the car takes off - basically you "just floor it every chance you get" (Literally!) - there you are not in the first 30% of travel very often for very long. But in daily driving - i never realized how much time is spent in that initial range of gas pedal travel - and that's where this TB shines and you smile. Alot.
Anyone who has a C7 that has not added this - or is partnered with someone who hasn't - hint hint - Just Get the darn thing and put it in! Then smile.
THANKS MIKE & Soler Team - you are ENGINEERING DONE RIGHT!

I just wanted to get a taste of what this mod would do. So...I broke out the Dremel. Wow man that really helps with the dead spot for the first 1/4 of the throttle and what I really hated was how the response was so touchy going past the first 1/4 of the pedal. I think I’ll send it off and have them do it up the rest of the way. I think I made the job easier for them when I do send it off.

Or a good deal more difficult.

Hopefully the location and depth of your mods matches Soler's work.

Naw they’ll just toss it in the CNC mil and hit go on the program. I don’t think it will really make it any easier or harder at all. I suspect whatever areas I might have gone too deep on won’t be that far from their CNC work and thus make no discernible I would ever feel. But I tell ya, this alone made a the throttle response much more linear.
edit: I just saw on their website they will only accept unmodified TB's, and I can understand why. No regrets here, its plenty fun to DIY and see improvements as a result. I plan to get one of Mike's units within the next 6 months anyway. This unit I mod'ed will become part of my garage wall art.

I'm thinking there might be a issue if the Dremel work goes too deep or is not centered. I am not predicting this however.

Soler's work is wonderful. I have been exceedingly pleased with both the throttle body and controller.

It is fun you have had as much success as you have with your efforts.

Mike at Soler:

Can an early unit be upgraded economically to the latest version? Would you say it is worthwhile to do?

Thinking about getting this also and see that this is the latest version he is making. Wondering if there is another final revision planned for the LT1 and if I should hold off on ordering?

While Mike is the only one who has an authoritative opinion on delta between old and new - he did say "a percent here a percent there" - on my fingers that adds up to 2.
and a 2% gain in the first 30degrees of pedal travel.. in the right direction but unlikely detectable by your butt.. Of course, all true engineers practice continual process improvements... yet We may get much more acceleration by simply skipping desert for a few weeks and losing 25 pounds.
I don't say this to dismiss the value in improving with small incremental gains - only to point out that those of us who already have the prior version will remain as happy as we all are without worrying "should we figure out a way to upgrade"..
God i wish i could stop eating desserts!

I received the new TB this afternoon.
Soler has been extremely quick to respond to my anomaly and I look forward to installing the newer version TB tomorrow.
I can clearly see some differences in the porting vs my first one.

Installed my new Soler TB and BMS filter this past week. All I can say is WOW, the car is definitely more snappier and seemingly more “Free”. Hesitation and bogging are now history.👍
Wish I had done this many years earlier. Thanks to all who have shared their install videos and tips. Both Soler and BMS delivered their products very quickly, so thanks to them as well.
