I have had a Range device in my GS since it was at about 200 miles, only time it was out was when it was in the dealer for my two free oil changes highly recommend as I didn't buy it to run on 4 cylinders. Something else you might want to consider is having the throttle body ported by Solar Performance as occasionally when you nail it it will sometimes have a flat spot, stumble, ect. With the re-worked throttle body it just runs better and no hesitation (flat spot), also made huge improvement to my wife's 2015 Z51 M7 car.
Yes, I don't like the idea of it running on 4 cylinders either. I didn't even know it did until I read Elmers post. I'll definitely look into the range unit. I like the idea of a ported throttle body. Did you have to remove the throttle body and ship it to them? Where is Solar Performance located? I'm in Florida so I would probably have to do that depending on their location.

You can send yours in or have them port a new one for a bit more, The wife's car I sent it in and had it back in a week, on my car I sent in a brand new one I picked up on Ebay for $80 so I would have my stock one as a spare, well worth the $275 in my opinion. https://www.solerengineering.com/gen...ors/se8223-040
If you have any mechanical abilities it is 10 minutes to take off and put back on.
OMG Elmer!!! That's freaking awesome. You're the man. Thank you so much for all that information. Now I'm gonna have to go buy more ink for my printer to print all that. Wow!! lol. I'm gonna have to put you on speed dial.
It says it all in post # 19 !! !!

Enjoy your car, they are awesome.

This is good advice. Congrats on the new car and best of luck with your ownership experience.

When you buy the Range device for your car, make sure that it has the most current software update. If you buy directly from Range you will pay a little more but it will be up to date and they will exchange the device if it goes bad. If you buy a used one they will not cover it or update it.

Soler Performance is in Daphne, AL. Mike, the owner is very helpful. If you are handy with a wrench, it's a job you can do yourself. The instructions are very clear. There are four bolts and one connector to deal with. If you do it yourself this is one key item you must pay attention to - the torque is in inch pounds (90 I think) not foot pounds. You will break a bolt if you torque it too much.
You have a couple of options when purchasing the throttle body. Check their website. One option is to order his TB and keep yours. Another is to order one and return your stock one as a core. I see you are in Lakeland. If you make it up to the panhandle, I would gladly install it for you.
I have a 2017 Z06 with the Soler throttle body and the Range device. I had the shutter occur while under warranty and had the flush done. No problems since. Before I installed the Range device, I would drive in M mode on the interstate to keep it out of 4 cyl mode. Enjoy your GS.

Great advice, I did recommend a Range unit in post #14 but did not elaborate on how to purchase. I too did go directly through Range when I purchased mine.

The Soler throttle body eliminates the off-idle lag/hesitation many of us experience and otherwise smooths out the response. It is well worth the expense. Check out Mike's website for more information.

I drove it in manual at a steady highway speed and It definitely went away. It came back every time I switched to "D". Then gone again when I went back to "M". So now I will take it to my dealership and ask them to do a transmission triple flush.

Ok. I'll check out Mike's website and pickup the TB. Any idea of the TB part number or do I just give him year, make, and model of the car? I will take you up on installing my TB for me. I've tooled around on cars before but nothing like on a corvette. I'll gladly let you do it for me. A road trip up to the panhandle will be well worth it. Thanks for the offer. I'm about to call the dealership for an appointment to do the transmission triple flush. I drove it in "M" today and the shudder definitely went away. It came back every time I went back to "D". And I'll look for the range unit and get that too. Thanks for your help. I almost bought a 2017 Z06.

What happens to your fuel consumption with these throttle advancing devices? There's got to be a reason or two why GM governs/retards the responsiveness of the throttle. Or why else would it drag down the acceleration experience?

I do have some mechanical abilities. I just don't have a torque wrench in inch pounds. Thanks for the link to the website. I think I'll buy their ported TB and keep mine as a spare.
Take your car to stingray Chevy in Plant City and ask for Jeramiah, he's always taken care of me.
Thanks. That's exactly where I was thinking of taking it. Since I'm in Lakeland I was thinking either there or Bartow. Plant City is closer to me. So I'll go there and ask for him.
