Default 2017 stingray automatic dump it or keep it

Last Monday I bought a 2018 Stingray with 5000 miles. Are the automatic transmissions so bad that I should trade it back to the dealer this Monday? If I hurry I can get my c6 back, I would appreciate every ones input.

Of course not. There's literally thousands upon thousands of C7 A8 owners who have never had ANY ISSUES at all with their A8 transmissions. Many of these are high mileage C7s. Most reports/articles state that C7 A8 shudder issues are 5% or less of all C7 A8 produced.
And on top of that, the new triple-flush process had resolved the vast majority of A8 shudder issues out there.

There are a fair amount of owners that have had issues with the A8 but many more that have not. The car should be under warranty so I would keep the C7. I have a 17 Z06 and had an occasional hard shift but really nothing that I would concern me. I had the triple flush done just to be safe no issues since. And by the way I track my car a VIR, the harder you drive the better it shifts. Good Luck

Thank you. I have read so much about problems with the transmissions that I am getting leery of it. I know this the last car I will buy at Modern Chevrolet in Winston-Salem, NC.

That's because practically everyone with A8 shudder issues go to forums to report and complain about it. However the THOUSANDS who have never had the issue don't go to forums to tell everyone about it.

I recently purchased an '18 Stingray Z51 with the A8. It currently has 24K miles and shifts smoothly and flawlessly with no TC vibration. You should have plenty of drivetrain warranty left. Don't be concerned, if something does develop in the future, you're covered.

I think I experienced it twice today. I wish instead of putting the $142 emergency kit in the car that the service department would done the triple flush.

If you are experiencing the shudder issue, take the car in, get the triple flush done, and supplement it with the purchase of a Range AFM Eliminator which will keep the car out of V4 mode..

Thanks for all the replays. After everyone's replays I think I am going to trade for my c6 back.. if it is shuddering already at 5k miles it must be a lemon. That is probably why it had such low mileage.

The Triple Flush falls under your powertrain warranty. No cost to you and the dealer will not even question it. There is a TSB on the issue.

Personally I would keep it and not think about it again for even a second, but from reading your posts your mind is already made up on trading it back, so I suggest doing that and getting old car back. I can feel your nervousness through my keyboard, its not worth keeping it if your going to be worried every time you drive it.

They did for cars built mid 02/2019 and newer anything prior gets the triple flush. We have a mid 03/2019 GS so should be good luckily, I bought a Range AFM disabler for it the week after I bought it as I have no want for it going in v4 regardless.

The car is not a lemon, but you are too nervous to enjoy it.
