So I just purchased a 2014 corvette and already something very bad has happed. My wife put her phone in the cubbie when the car was off and the screen was up. I turned it on and then screen went up. Now it wont go down and then phone is behind it. I think I’m really screwed. Anyone know any way to help me get it out?
Not the first time that this has happened. Do a search, you might find some pointers on how to pull apart the dash to retrieve the phone, unfortunately “some disassembly required”. It’s probably not necessary but I don’t really use that cubby for this very reason.

I don't use mine because occasionally when it closes the screen does not work.
After reading several incidents of being locked out of the panel storage. I made it a habit to forget about the storage space and never use it. Good luck getting the door open.
I think it may be easier to get a new phone…. Sounds like I dont want to use the cubbie anyway! Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think ill change my tag name to DA….Dumb ….you all know the rest!

Even if you get another cell phone, you would want to address the problem and have the stuck one removed.
I would not want a dead cell phone battery in my compartment for too long. Just sayin'....
Good luck!
All too common, and with no mechanical back-up--same as the gas door. An "Advanced Search" across the C7 Forums here will find a bunch of such accounts and I'm sure the "fix," which as I recall requires a pretty extensive disassembly. That's why I've never used mine and recommend the same to everyone. Best of luck with it.
(btw, save yourself another such poor design glitch by blocking the gas-door hole the lock-pin goes into before it craps out, too. )
It really is not as bad as it looks. It just takes a little time. I did not find it intimidating at all.
I can probably do it even faster now that I have done it the first time.
It was a dash bezel swap to CF but it's the same procedure.
sorry to hear, but easy to do....I bought a shelf that sits inside, and it has a 'lip' in it for the top shelf to avoid anything sliding forward toward the screen....Unless your a pretty handy, I wouldn't try removing these parts yourself. You will end up breaking many clips etc....
