Sorry to be a ***** in a stack of nylon, but I'd say that it's a half-developed product. I got mine and even in a few month's time, it was already out of date or it wasn't developed fully because my car started getting bad hiccups (stuck in 4th gear on the highway revving at 4-5K or something high rpms, CAR DYING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ***ING ROAD THREE SEPARATE TIMES) every time it hiccuped, I almost got into an accident. So my experience says stay the **** away from those.

If you are referring to the range product I do agree. It worked most of the time for me but I did not like the RPM spikes but with the Diablo tune those went away.

Yup tuning is much better than these plug and play 'chips'
I’ve used the Range in my ‘16 Corvette for at least 5 years now with absolutely no problems. I then bought one for my ‘18 Escalade….again no problems. It stays in V8 mode all the time. Last March I bought one for my 2020 CT6V Cadillac for the same reason, to remain in V8 mode. A side benefit on that car is it also defeats the “auto-stop’ function. I don’t like that thing either. No battery drain on the later versions. I do remove the Range before taking any of my cars in to the dealers for service as they all still have warranty of one type or another. No trace of the Range remains once it is removed.
Good morning,
Put the range device on my16 stingray. Worked great for 3 months then caused the car to have all kinds of issues. Wouldn't start then when it did you couldn't accelerate. All kinds of error messages kept popping up including engine light. After pulling the chip the car's computer reset itself and ran fine. Chevy found 6 error codes. Range Technologies sent me a new device at no charge. They said they have heard of this a couple of times. Put the new one in and the car wouldn't even start. Pulled it out and the car started but only had 4 gears and no manual. Waiting for computer to reset itself.
Has anyone experienced these issues? If so what did you do?
I don’t have a problem with the V4-v8 modes, as long as the engine wouldn’t blow up. Have heard from more than one source that it’s a bad design. I have a Range because of that fact.
I agree with everyone above - the AFM Eliminator is well worth the money. Buy directly from Range Technologies, get the latest version and be assured of a full warranty on the item.
Have had the Range Devise installed for a few weeks now and don't really notice a big difference. I use tour mode most of the time. My Caddy shows on the DIC when it's in 4 cyl mode. The Vette doesn't seem to have this feature, or at least I don't see it. We'll see what happens.

It's there. You just need to know where to look. Take some time and get to know your Vette a little better.
Just took my 2015 in for oil change and state inspection. Forgot to take my Range out, thought about it later and thought, "oh ****". But it passed inspection with no problem. Now I have to de-tune my Raptor to stock and drive it around a bunch before taking it in for state inspection, but Corvette passed with flying colors. Weird.
Just a note about emissions inspection. I too forgot to take out my range device prior to my inspection in Mass. Took it out when it was in the inspection bay. Emission inspection failed. Took my 2014 out on the highway, drove about 40 miles, turned the car on and off a couple times, went back to the inspection station and passed no problem. Failed inspection due to my own failure to plan.

It is on the screen which shows V8/V4. I believe V8 is on orange when it is active and V4 is in green when it is active. Like the other poster said get to know your Vette or cheat and look it up in the manual.

Thanks for the help. This C-7 is new to me, only had it for a couple of months.

I'll add my input against the Range. It really messed up my Z06 last week to the point where I thought the car would go into limp mode. After a somewhat hard acceleration the car began sputtering and losing power on decel. I took it out and the car runs just fine again. Range is garbage. Someday I willl get a professional tune rather than a generic "band aid" that'll ruin my car.
