Screen up/down button

I have a '17 Grand Sport and I would like to disable the factory screen up/down button and add another button in it's place that is not obvious. The cubby hole is a great feature but it would be much nicer if others didn't know how to open it. Has anyone done this before? Earlier today I pulled the dash panel to do this but it appears that the factory button is part of the radio assembly. Any thoughts? Thx.

There are covers for the button, making it a bit hidden.

But seriously, who but Corvette owners even know of this cubby or care? You are not going to fool them.

And how much gold bullion do you plan to store in the cubby you are afraid to lose?

I purchased this cover from Sandyeggo Designs. It looks good and unless you are a vette owner, most dont know the cubby is there.

That Jake cover looks pretty good and hides the factory button for the screen.

And, when it gets wedged shut and won't open, no one will be able to get into it anyway. Like with the gas door, there's no manual backup.

Don't all GM vehicles have the same button and storage bin? Everyone knows the button is there, whether it's labelled or not.

By the way, that's the C6 Jake. Those aren't C7 flags.
