I'm thinking about selling my '05 C6 and getting a C7. My question is: Do the '14 C7s have the same first production year issues the '05 had? Are there any years I should stay away from when looking for my C7?
The '14 C7s are quite remarkable. For a first year car, they have relative few issues. I had one recall on the fuel intake and that was a 5 minute fix. I had a fan regulator go bad (as did many others) and a replacement fan fixed it right up. Some folks had a bad NAV screen problem. All those issues should have surfaced and gotten fixed in any '14s running around today. The A6 did not have the issues that the A8 had with the shudder at highway speeds. Turned out to be the transmission juice and GM finally got the right stuff into the transmissions, so that issue should be pretty much gone.
The '14 does not have PDR, a front camera, nor Carplay. The front camera and carplay can be overcome with one mod for around $450.
I'm sure I missed stuff, but others will chime in and add information.

I spent about $2K on my 2014 changing the parts out to get Apple CarPlay and I am getting a front camera installed today. The camera will be tied to the infotainment system and come on when I flip a switch. Would like to know about the $450 mod that fixes that.
I have had the '14 for two years and 33K miles and it is rock solid. Wonderful machine.
I recently purchased a 2014 Z51 from a nearby dealership. It was sold new at the dealership from which I purchased. While it received annual service at the dealership, there were no GM warranty records for service. It is a rock solid car and going on 8 years of age. Still looks beautiful.
In addition to what others have mentioned, there is no soft close system for the back hatch. It did not appear till around 2016?

NavTool. ~$450. It provide the ability to add a front camera ($30) and it also gives you car play. The front camera on my Navtool comes on automatically when I shift from reverse to drive OR when I depress the "Back" button for 3 seconds. If I use the "Back" button, it stays on permanently until I repress the "Back" button. THe camera displays on the NAV screen.
I also updated the radio from a '14 to a '17 and have wireless carplay along with the Navtool front camera. Navtool didn't offer the carplay when I got it but the later versions have added it.

14' Z51 here. Only issue after 51K miles was the cracked gas tank and fuel pump that my 13' GS had. I have a service contract on it, so fully covered it.

Have had my ‘14 for three years now and only problem I have had is a replacement of the infotainment screen under extended warranty. Otherwise, an incredible car.
Well, question is very subjective as to years with problems, all years have had some issues and usually the last model years are the least problematic.
Notes: The 2014 is a "beta year" for the Stingray Corvette.

Appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks!
Ironically, the '14 C7 is one of the least problematic of the C7 model run.
In fact, if I were to purchase another C7 down the road, which I may very well do, I would look for a super low mileage 2014.
The wife and I unloaded a 2005 C6 back to the dealer for a couple thousand dollar loss a month ago. We upgraded to a 2014 C7 3LT and have never looked back. The C7 is 10 times the car the C6 was and we've been smiling ever since!
I've had my 2014 Z51 (AT and 3LT) for 11 months and other than having to replace the TPMS sensors, the car has been remarkably trouble-free.
I came to the C7 from a C5, and wonder now why I waited so long to make the switch. As others have noted, the C7 is a vastly improved driving experience.

No, and no. The C7 was at it's 2013 release and model run, the best of all previous C classes. Bar none.
Other than three minor recalls the only things done to my 2014 Stingray 3LT A6 have been the replacement of the rear view mirror and a repaint of a front fender due to factory defect. Both were done under warranty. No other problems in 36k miles.
Mine is on the list for a possible leak from a cracked flange on the gas tank but it has not happened so far. It is covered by this service bulletin with the warranty extended for the fix if needed to 10 years. You may want to check the VIN of any car you might buy to see if it is on the list. Here is a thread about it on this forum.
Other than that the car has been flawless and real joy to own. I have an 8 year/100k mile extended warranty that expires in July 2022 and I have not needed to use it yet.
Well, one more comment. Purchased my 3LT, A6, C7 new in 2014 and have just turned 60,000 miles on the odometer. Only issue occurred this summer when the serpentine belt tensioner (its hydraulic) sprung a leak which in turn affected the harmonic balancer.. Net result, had to replace both... No other other issues in 7 years! Great car...
Stan as others have said the 14's are fine, though mine left me stranded on the road. It over heated and water reservoir cracked causing a major repair (in warranty). Though you may want to get a little newer to get the A8 instead of the A6 if you can swing it.
