Sounds like what Grandma said to us when we tried to get her to stop smoking. "Been smoking for 50 over years, no problems.". Sounds like "I haven't checked or had a problem come at me YET.". Like I said, I just changed just before winter and will let it run till it is time to change and see what the UOA says and run 5W30 and see what the UOA says them to determine if there is "no problems" or "it is definitely going to be a problem down the road.".

The engine was originally specified for 5W-30 so if there is a problem then GM screwed up from the get-go. Given the amount of miles the average C7 sees via a single owner I am not sure what "down the road" problems people are worried about. If you track the car then that is a different story.
