But, I have a yellow 2017 C7 Z51 M7. I am thinking that the manual transmission might have great value in the future. Should I keep this car because it will have greater value some day. Or is it not worth speculating in this because too many M7 Stingrays are out there? I could possibly keep the C7 in storage and still get the C8 of it was worth it.
C8 just too damn ugly for myself, too many flaws and angles I just hate to look at... if I get the mid engine bug I will look elsewhere. I absolutely love my C7 Z06, first sports car I love everything and could be happy just parking it and looking at it's beautiful lines.. and just cannot see a C8 parked next to it in my lifetime. I think many here would agree, but this is the C7 area.. you'd get a similar response from any other secting barring the C8 section.. I would suspect, people buy what they want and love no matter what others say they are "supposed" to like. Some here are just very passionate about our rides...
I've been buying, selling, investing, collecting Corvettes for 47 years and I can tell you that having a manual trans alone in a C7 is not going to make a significant different in value in the future. If your C7 is super low mileage and keep in immaculate condition you may see some modest appreciation in 40 years or so, however that would be the same for an auto trans C7.
If you want to make a little or not lose money on your C7 now is the best time to sell.
I'm a manual fan, and most of my Corvettes have been manual, however in 20 years from now most are not even going remember what a manual trans is must less pay a huge premium for one.

Anyone have any thoughts about this?
Thanks.
For the near term? I'd buy what I wanted. I would not look for the C7 to have appreciable financial return, any time soon.
IDK about you but we did see housing go way the hell up till it burst in 2008. I have a bad feeling that sooner or later, that bubble will burst. If you are thinking of a C8, this is the best time to get one before the start of the season. I think that at some point, the car will be so high that the value will reverse and you won't get as much as you would today. IMO, this is the time to sell and get a new or newer one. I was thinking about but I wanted to see how far the rear engine platform will go hence the C7 and the wife was itching to dump the C4 which was getting a little too long in the tooth. Probably leapfrog into a mid generation C9
I specifically looked for and bought a 2019 M7 bc 1)don't care for the C8, 2)Can't imagine having an A8 in a sports car and 3)believe that anything that is the first or last of things carry more value. Every single person I'm come across that sees my Vette makes a comment about it being a M7 and how they wouldnt want a C8 with no option of a M7. I don't buy, sell trade Vettes like the other gentleman said here but I do know what I want and while looking for another vette for a friend I notice A8s out number M7s 3 or 4 to 1 on Autotrader. And the first thing my friend said when I asked what was he looking for was: HAD to be a M7. Color, package, even year was negotiable but not the M7. Just my 2 cents worth...

If you like the C8 that much then go ahead and purchase one. As for your C7 being a manual it is worth more today than an A8 future values are just a guess. I know my 2019 M7 Z06 Convertible is worth a good buck these days but way too much fun with this beast to get rid of it. Plus going from a manual to a paddle shifting dct is not for me at this time. I was on the list for a C8 and after several drives in one I just had to remove my name. It is a nice car but lacks that rawness that the C7Z has plus I could not get into the dct or paddle shifting just not the same experience.

I don't see a run of the mill Z51 manual C7 being a collector car or anything worth while. A C7Z would though.
As technology gets better, manuals will become a thing of the past when people come to terms with DTC's doing everything performance wise better than a manual. Manual will be a "nostalgic thing" for most.
There's over 100 thousand C7 built, it's not a rare car in your country, a manual won't be rare either. A manual Lambo will get about 40K over an auto, what about a Corvette, just a few thousand? Not worth storing for a few dollars, now's the time to sell with this crazy market prices. Depreciation will return when the manufacturers can provide cars for everyone.

I would keep that Beautiful ZO6 Vert and flip that C8.A positive money maker right away,Well Sept.?.You obviously want a C8 or you wouldn't of ordered so early.
That c7 resale right now is nuts if you purchased early enough. The verts are rare especially a Z.I remember all the depreciation talk when C7 was being built.Wait for a garage queen.Let first owner eat all the new car smell purchase.
HA,How did that work out for the waiters? Ya,Honestly just don't know what is gonna happen. The cost to simply drive is absolutely MADNESS..
I was at MCMulkin getting tranny flushed talking to a salesmen. You know that the C8 Z just started taking orders,5k I believe to order that day.I was automatically think,Flip.
Wife only may play a slot machine. Not a fan at all about the European styled corvette.

I agree that if you want to sell and take advantage of what I call insane prices for cars, now is the time. At some point the values will return to normal. If you want a C8, wait time will be months away unless you are willing to pay an ADM that can vary from day $5K up to $30K.
I really prefer the open feeling of my C7 Vert to the C8 version. I also like the M7, so I do not really feel the urge to trade at the moment. I might actually consider an electric version down the road if it's interesting enough. I only say this because we have other vehicles for long vacation drives, so the C7 comes out for 7 months or so for our really nice local roads, which is a decent fit for a limited-range e-vehicle.

I havent ordered one yet I'm just on the list !! I still get 6 months to think about it.
Ive never purchased a modern era car with a view that its an investment. Buy what you like. You only live once.
This. In 20 years, there'll be even less people who know how to drive a stick. How that'll affect the C7 M7 price is anyone's guess. I sure wouldn't hold out for it being an investable feature. If you like the C8 enough to move into A8 country, do it. Sell the 7 while the market price favors you.
I've seen a C8 up close and looked it over for 10-15 minutes (and lost interest[!!]). I really dislike the body lines; I'll stand pat with my c7 z51 m7. But you don't gotta please me.
It is a nice car but lacks that rawness that the C7Z has plus I could not get into the dct or paddle shifting just not the same experience.
On the C4 forum, the rawness died with the C4. I'm sure C5 and C6 people will say that about the future generations. Kinda like sagging. Had to do it because of circumstances and now it becomes a thing. Kinda like prisoners who have been institutionalized. Noise, harshness and vibration was a fact of life. Now that the NHV is gone because we don't have to put up with it, they need that feeling. C5 came out, it was more refined
C4 people needed the NHV again. C6 and now C7 is probably the same thing. People are used to that level of NHV and need it to feel right.
