I am on the list and due in Sept from Criswell Chev. I am still deciding if I want to sell My Z06 for a C8'
If that's a true LBR with Kalahari interior and top you best contact the Corvette museum before selling. I found after I bought mine that only 3 were produced like that in 2017 with Z06 trim and black calipers. Corvettes are not rare, that's true. But I like the novelty of owning a truly rare convertible Z06. Good luck either way you go.
The 7M C7 is such a blast to drive on a twisty road, for me it would be boring driving a sports car with a DCT/Automatic.
Good luck getting a C8 or a getting a deal on one.
Until you get competitive, maybe. Human shift is about 500 ms and the DTC is about 20% of that. 2nd place might be fun for some. Used to be sports cars were manual because technology forced it to be. Now it has to be manual because of the past that cannot accept that the old system is replaced by one that shifts faster, consumes less fuel and is more consistent.
Same as almost all vehicles, I would think. I remember reading something about them cutting inventory so they do not have to have so much in incentives to sell at the end of the year. Obviously it depends on whether the manufacturers can keep not producing extra inventory to lower the unit cost.

I’ve never driven a C8 but I did drive a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta with a DCT. It was extremely fast but I didn’t find it that fun to drive.
I’ve never raced but I’ve done a lot of trackdays on 1000cc sportbikes on road racing course, some in the expert/race group and have run cars at the drag strip.
For what I use my car for I prefer a M/T.

Just saw a report that the Corvette assembly plant had to shut down again? a parts shortage? Also saw that a un related shortage of chips has GM eliminating Magnetic Ride control?
Other GM models they are shipping without auto shut off, park assist, and other stuff?
These are weird times. Next thing you know gas will be $5/gal?

It is not all about being the fastest but about driving enjoyment. If you only care about racing then hp. and the fastest shifting transmission is what you want.

Wasn't anything spectacular when I did it a couple of decades ago and it wasn't anything great when I did it on the motorcycle so not sure what to say. Definitely more enjoyable driving without having to lift my arm from the soda cup.
For a car that I bought for power, kinda. For my sedan, not so much.
So if I’m understanding this correctly. You’ve already waited 8 months and now you have to wait another 6-8 weeks?
First off, it is MSRP. I know, a couple years ago and we'd have passed on MSRP but these are different times. 8 months ago was July 2021 so he was wanting a 22.

Same deal on trucks these days. If you want one, you have to order it at MSRP plus T&L and wait months to get it.

Supply and demand. More trucks are going off the road than replaced and each will be worth more. Good time to sell, decent time to trade up and lousy time to buy.

NO.
After 3 years I still can't get the yearning for a C8.
I don't race, enjoy my M7 and the C7 grew on me within two years of introduction.
And with the C8 issues, the C7 is priced much closer to a used C8.

There's really been very few issue considering the the C8 being a totally brand new new ground up sportscar.
In fact, I stated from the beginning that I would wait for a 3rd year C8 to give GM one year to find the broad issues and another year to fix them as I really expected the C8 to be littered with problems. That really hasn't been the case.
