Default Memory seat

Looking for some advise for my 2019 Stingray . The memory seat worked perfectly until I took the car in for some MINOR service. The technician was a big guy so he had to move the seat. Now it doesn't go to the "easy out" position nor does it go to my regular driving position. When I bought the car (new) the salesman set the seat controls and I have never touched them . Can someone walk me thru the setting procedure, step by step ? Thanks Bob C.

The setting procedure is easy. Get the seat where you want and push the set button then hold the 1, 2, or exit and wait for the beep. If you do the exit all the way back then lean the seat slightly forward before setting it. If it hits the stop-strip then the auto functions won’t work until you move the seat a bit to get off of it.

I also discovered that if you have the seat folded forward, the seat won't move via the power controls. Put the seat back and let it latch and all the functions return. This on a vert....

Yep, most common issue is having the seat all the way back when storing the positions. It won't work. Just move it a fraction of an inch forward. I've also read about bad switches.

Some have suggested you turn it off altogether for the Easy Exit and Key Memory. After that, you turn it back on.

That last video had the magic solution in it. The point I had missed was having the parking brake on while setting all the memory functions. Didn't have a chance to test it until this PM and everything worked just like the owners manual said it would. Thanks to all who took the time to help me out. Bob

I have a 2014. The manual instructions say to press the set, release then press 1 to set and a beep is heard. Mine does not beep if the set and 1 button are both pressed. Also, when the seats and easy exit are set and the engine started to access the screen vehicle menu, the seat memory setting and exit settings are automatically turned on. Unfortunately, after 8 years of working I have not been able to get the seats to return to the set position when in the exit position, the door closed and the engine turned on. I tried reprogramming multi times in accordance with the manual. I can get the seats to return to the set position by pressing and holding the 1 button several times. Anybody had this problem?

In the video above from Furman I hear two beeps after pressing a 1 or 2 or exit. I only hear one beep on my 2014. I can't get mine to reprogram.

IDK about a 14 but in mine, you have to allow it to work. Assuming you have either Key 1 or Key 2 with you, go into the infotainment center and allow the convenience feature

The following are all possible
personalization features. Depending

system display.
2. Press the desired feature to
display a list of available

In mine, you set the position, hit the "Set" button and press and hold the 1 or 2 depending on your key

I’m having same exact issue with my 2014. Have to hold number 1 in to get it to go to my set position. Tried YouTube with Rick and Ginger and still not working right. My C5 i had, as soon as you put key in, right to set position. Man, I miss KEYS!!!!!!!

Did you follow the manual and allow personalization?

Default 2014 M7 seat memory

The 2014 M7 seat memory ON was AT DOOR OPEN so the seat would go to memory position when you opened the door to get in. There was a software fix to add ON- AT IGNITION ON which is how later years work.

Does your memory recall screen have choices ON / OFF or OFF / ON - AT DOOR OPEN / ON - IGNITION ON?

If only on/off it functions as OFF / ON - AT DOOR OPEN. There is a software fix to change to the 3 choices. You want ON - IGNITION ON. 2015 and later ON is the same as ON - AT IGNITION ON. See image of service ticket below for the doc # and PI #. The software update was free when under warranty - I expect they will charge you now.

2014 M7 as delivered - built April 2014.

2014 M7 with seat memory software update:

Software update applied to 2014 M7 see Doc# and PI# in the writeup:
