Default Quick Jack 5000 TL

For those of you using the Quick Jack 5000TL, do you use just the jack supplied lifting blocks and/or your pucks too?

thanks,

I use both since pucks fit perfect in liftpoints

thanks,
I use both since its easier to see the puck when aligning the blocks at each lift point. Before I had the pucks, I was still able to use just the blocks, and feel if the blocks would hit the right lift point/spot.

Both, much easier to align everything with the pucks in.

Thanks for the tips. I also picked up one on sale at Costco, haven't put it together yet. I guess you have to put them under the car each time and line them up with the rubber blocks meeting the pucks? No way to mark the floor on where to park car, mark the floor where the jacks go, and put them there each time. Obviously being careful to make sure all is lined up before raising up?

Do you have to pull them out each time or are our cars too low to store them under the card in the middle and then back car out with the jacks underneath?

No way to mark the floor on where to park car, mark the floor where the jacks go, and put them there each time. Doubtful. Will be easier to park the car, and then properly position the Quickjacks. Obviously being careful to make sure all is lined up before raising up? Yep; that's the way.

Depending on which way the Quickjacks are positioned, the car will either move forward or backward as it's elevated. Make sure it's parked with enough room to allow that.

This is an interesting fact. I bought my Quickjacks used so wasn't sure about paperwork but I found that if I placed the Quickjacks so the car moved backwards when elevated, it became light(ish) on the back end if removed tires and wheels. More so than if I have the Quickjack positioned to elevate the car forward. It seems much more stable to me the later way.

And yes, I use the rubber lift pads with pucks.

You have to position them under the car each time you use them. You can NOT drive over them! I did mark my garage floor with tape for the approximate positioning of the car and jacks within about an inch.
As stated, to bring the car to the highest elevation, it will move the car 18 inches forward or back (depending on the orientation of the jacks).
I store the jacks centered under the car. There's plenty of clearance and room. Just be mindful of the hydraulic hoses, you don't want to run over them or the quick-connects!

Thanks Shawn!

Yeah I knew you can't drive up and over them but you answered my question. Sounds like you store them under your car pushed towards center and then when you want to back your car out you slide them completely out from under the car?

In other words you can't leave them centered under the car and pull out as there may not be enough clearance and you might run over hoses unless you were to disconnect them from the pump and center the hoses?

I would be worried if there wasn't enough clearance that I would forget they are under there for storage and them , OOPS!

No I actually leave them where they are. There's a good 18" on either side. I just pull straight into my garage, there's pretty much no chance of me moving that far left or right as I pull in and out.

For me - I use the circle lifting point pucks that you just slip into the slots and give a half turn....and the rubber blocks that come with the QJ.

There's a hack on you tube that shows how you can add cheap casters to the frames to move them around the garage floor. I did that and it makes all the difference for me. I can roll them around with my foot to where I need them to be.

Ok, added the pucks with the blocks, they won’t line up no matter how I move the blocks or jack, see photos what am I doing wrong? The first photo is the front and second rear.

Cheers,
If you have jackstands, consider placing them as shown here. Just as backup.
