My first Corvette in 65 years.
So, those of you who are long time Corvette owners possibly get used to this by now but it is new to me.
It seems like every Dick & Jane who watched too many Fast & Furious movies think they should be racing when they see a Corvette on the road.
I am tired of ignoring people coming alongside of my car and revving and then taking off for 100 yards or so and then slowing down for me to catch up and repeat until they realize I am not in the racing mood on a public road with other traffic around us. Even guys driving a Van or a beaten up Honda Civic etc.
Today I was on highway 99 towards Fresno, CA which is 60 miles away from where I live and an Acura sedan was on my tail when quite busy traffic was moving at 65-70 mph. He was one minute next to me, one minute behind me. Staying 50 yards back and then approaching to my tail like a lightning bolt and slowing down suddenly as if I was blocking his way when both lanes filled with cars and trucks and everybody moving the same speed.
Do you guys have to deal with this kind of attitude often?

It does happen occasionally. Best to just ignore the morons - not worth the chance of something bad happening in a street race. Don't let it bother you, just enjoy the car.
Happens a lot to me. Many are 6 cylinder Chargers and mustangs with temp tags, just bought them. Im not going to race them on city streets especially since it wouldnt really be much of a race.
It happens now and then. Some just do it to be a wise ***, like the guy in the rusty pickup with the 7 cylinder V8 that harassed me on the freeway last year.

Now that's funny!
I have nothing to prove to anybody and on a nice sunny day when I drive in my topless C7, I am driving to enjoy myself and not to race an idiot on freeways.
Oh well, it must be a regional thing possibly...

On a recent 3 hour road trip, I was hauling , 100mph for good stretches
I had cars try to hang but over time, they really couldn’t
talking mid sized suvs
Within the first four hours of owning my C6 GS 'vert I got "bothered" three times. A 5.0 Mustang, a big ugly muddy lifted Ford pickup and I think a small hemi'd Challenger. Never had it happen with the C7 or C8......yet.

No.
I've owned my 2017 Stingray since new. It just doesn't happen.
Never happened in my new 1977 Stingray bought in 1976, either....
You must live in the part of the country where all gentle people live...
No, far from gentle in fact quite a bit of military in my part of the country. Most just display maturity and common sense, except the occasional Mustang owner. Considering where you live (Ca), perhaps it's your area at issue.

Only 1 person in my 24 years of Corvette ownership pulled up beside me on a city street and wanted to race. Maybe a couple more passing me aggressively on freeways hoping I'd bite. But I just ignore them.
Once I did get passed by a horse trailer on a side street but I was in the process of breaking in my C5. ;-)

Exactly, that's why I was asking.. I was curious to figure it out.
It's kind of cultural and social issue I guess.
Like I mentioned before I live in a small town ( <50,000 people ) and within 100 mile radius also there are a lot of small towns where muscle car ownership and car clubs are the biggest form of hobby and social involvement right after hunting and church going.
These small communities do not have big sports teams that represent them or symphonies or museums, polo clubs... Families in this region do not attend fashion shows or art gallery openings.
Most of the men and women in these small towns are NASCAR enthusiast type of people who love to spend their free time behind the wheel of their souped up muscle cars and at their car clubs' social gatherings.
What I meant in my post that neither my 750Li or SL550 ever got these types of attention during the years I owned them. But in only 3 days I noticed more than few drivers showing this kind of aggressive attitude around my 2014 LRG Stingray... Especially when I am driving on a sunny day with top down.
It seems I am not alone...

Yup, I get it all the time. I want to go on a nice country drive and those guys come right up my rear, tail me and can't wait to pass. All kinds of vehicles as well. I'm just mellow listening to the tunes!!
I get it much more in my ‘66 convertible than my ‘19 coupe. Maybe it’s the 427 emblems or maybe it only happens to convertibles?!
There seem to be a lot more Mustangs with loud exhaust systems in NY where my ‘66 lives than in TX where my ‘19 lives, so maybe it is more a location issue.
Yep I noticed
Yep I ignore it
You will get use to it
I think I also noticed more because I was closer to the ground
You notice cars behind you because of the head lights at least in my case
That light always hits you right in the eye
Always had my rear view on dim
I also notice people didn't seem to see my car as well (it's black) a lot of close calls
Bought some bright led fog light bulbs always on.
