Default Launch control problem

I just bought a 14 stingray and love every minute in it. A week back I found out it had launch control but I'm having trouble. I have done the steering wheel straight at 0, track mode and double tap and competitive mode come up but no options to scroll through like I've read...dry, sport 1 or 2 and so on. I've pressed the brake really hard and stepped on the gas but I might not be stepping on the gas too quickly. I'm afraid of burning out as I've already done....does it have to be a quick pedal to the metal type deal. I just don't want to damage my car a week after having it but want to launch it bad! I've taken off with it without doing the launch and it got 3.5 in 60. Scared the crap out of the wife lol

The track mode submodes WET, DRY, SPORT1, SPORT2, AND RACE are only available if the car has mag ride. Mag ride suspension will have wires coming out of the top of BLACK shocks and option code FE4 on the service parts sticker under the rear carpet near the battery. Mag ride was an available option on Z51 cars only.

Download the pdf version of the owner's manual from the Sticky Threads link above and read section 9.

Congrats on the Corvette. These Corvette's have enough transmission problems without using launch control. IMO it's pretty hard on the drive line and yes, we all know Corvette's are made for it. Enjoy your car!

I have been using launch control for years at the track , its the most consistent launch when using the factory run craps . It is way better on the driveline than blowing the tires off of it or getting into axle hop
GM added launch control for you to use and as long as you don't get axle hop you will not have any issues

OP , you are doing it right , I am assuming that you don't have a Z51 and and you have an A6

You are doing everything right except
1 - Stand on the brake pedal like you are having to do a panick stop , press it thru the floorboards
2- quickly press the gas pedal to to the floor . RPMS will only go to 2100 RPM
3- let go of brake and hold on lol lol .

I can pop a 1.6 to 1.8 60 ft time on an unprepared track with the factory run craps . You can get faster times not using launch control but its a fine line between a good launch and blowing the tires off of it . If you are not using launch control you must let off of it at the first sign of axel hop , axel hop will break stuff real fast

When I run drag radials I don't use launch control, I just roll into the throttle real quick keeping the tires just on the brink of spinning ..
Don't be scared of it , Launch control is fun
