Default On going screen problem

My screen goes blank. It starts off with the time indicator will disappear, then the temperature indicator, then the radio volume will not work then the entire screen goes blank. This has been going on for about 3 years on an off. The dealership cant help because every time i bring it in it goes back to normal so they cant tell whats wrong as no code come up. They say its most likely loosing the signal which comes back in due time. Is anyone else experience this or any idea the cause?

Have you been documenting these occurrences by taking a video of the screen and describing what is happening? The Infotainment screen in my 2014 acted up (flickering, blank screen) and I took a video, showed it to the service advisor, and they ended up replacing the screen. Sure can’t hurt to document what is going on with a video.

Thanks and will try that and sounded like you had the same problem. About 3 years ago they did replace the screen but its starting to act up again. I think the 2014 c7 had problems as was the first year.

Chevy dealers have more sophisticated code readers. I had similar problems on my 2014. They have a software update for the radio and HMI module. Look on this forum for "Black screen of Death" discussions. For me it wasn't loose connections or anything that required a replacement - just the reprogramming was the cure.

Hey bud, I had pretty much the same sort of symptoms.
2015 3LT

It would drive me crazy. It was so random...I'd go several months with no issues then it would act up a few times over the course of a couple weeks. And of course, it never acted up while at the dealership.

A few years ago, I learned on this forum that we could upgrade the 2014s and 2015s to Apple CarPlay. This is NOT a Chevy or dealer installed upgrade. It's an aftermarket thing.

infotainment.com

I replaced three different modules for the upgrade. After doing this, all those issues were gone. So, it must have been a fault in one of those modules. I did the upgrade cause I wanted CarPlay.

Check out that website and their products. Mine works perfectly. As soon at it was all hooked up, it was solid. The ONLY thing that doesn't work exactly correct are the steering wheel controls for the phone. I never used those much anyway.

It's a little spendy. And a pain in the *** to do the swap. But it's been totally worth it. One module is under/behind the passenger footwell. The other two are tucked up under the driver side.
