So nonchalant just 3D scanned my car, flipped milled parts, molds of car, fabricated the kit and 10 months later voila. Are you kidding me sounds like quite a lot and quite the PITA. Good going very industrious. Looks sick by the way.
That's so cool. If you could only get a hold of one of those 5.5L race engines. Would probably be big bucks. I love that C7.R, have watched it race at Road America many times. Why is it not good for long distances? Race seats?
You can drive it on a long distance, but the coilover's settings make for a harsh ride. I have them on the stiffest settings.

Funny you should ask..I made a 17min long video and posted it on youtube under my name "ProtoFabLab". If you want to bore yourself to sleep, I suggest watching it lol.

For YEARS, that was the plan. I swear had a change of heart in the last month or so building it and this is what I chose. This design (ish) didn't come out of thin air, though!!

But great job sir.
Thank you, thank you. People who see pictures of this car online think that the wrap hides the lines, however there is no mistaken how wide and wild this is in real life! This car lots of attention at NC's largest Cars & Coffee in Morrisville NC (Raleigh area) last Saturday. I posted a video on my Instagram account "ProtoFabLab" with no less than 100 people coming to look at the car on a cold, windy February morning.

Thanks, EVERYBODY, for the vote of confidence! I just remember when I got the chance to see the C7.R race car live in action at VIR in 2015, 2016. I have some old youtube videos with over 100k views under "ProtoFabLab" of the C7.R... that thing had a presence and attracted spectators like a magnet. So, 8 years later this is what I have. It is 1 foot wider than the stingray, has coilovers, BTR cam, tune, DOD delete, borla s type exhaust, 7 speed manual, 450hp at the wheels, which is plenty for me. It's quite fun to cruise around in...long distances...nope haha Thanks again for the support!
450whp is probably right in line with an actual C7.R. GTE/GTLM class wasn't running over 500hp.
I made the body panels myself. I bought my car specifically for this....I 3D scanned my car, used a 3D model from a racing simulator, subtracted the model from the scan, flip milled the parts, adhered them onto the car, took multi-piece molds of car's altered body panels with the factory mounting points, fabricated the kit and 10 months later...voila! One day I'll make an all carbon kit, but this will do for now. It is epoxy and fiberglass, plenty strong
The House Special haha! It came from the 3D model. I directly machined the two part closed mold for the wing + the 2 winglets, and resin infused them with epoxy. The spoiler has a polyurethane foam core. Machined the brackets out of .25" aluminum. I had to hand trace the design of the brackets because Pratt & Miller updated the C7.R's aero due to some IMSA rule changes. 2016 came canards, extensions to the sideskirts and a wing + diffuser that hung past the length of the car. My 3d model is for the 2015 C7.R where the wing and diffuser is flush with the rear, but with altered spoiler brackets to make the spoiler sit off of the rear of the car like the post 2015 car. Sorry to bore you with that info
