The door jams state that it was built in Dec of 2016. I thought that a Grand Sport was a 1wy07. this is the tag under the rear mat. they sold me a 2017 Watkins grey grand sport. I'm confused(doesn't take much)..And I did look up every code in picture. tha's what makes it more confusing... maybe a left over stingray, before they convert it
Yes,, thank you. just wondering why it has a 1YY07 and not a 1WY07
Now I see what you are talking about. The 1YY07 indicates a base Stingray coupe and 1YW07 is for a Grand Sport coupe. It appears to be a mistake on the tag.
The VIN is correct. It's the RPO sticker that states it's a 1YY07 under the rear cargo mat that seems to be wrong.I was wondering since the door jam states it was built in 12/16 , was this one of the first GS 's being built?

My 2019 is the same way. VIN shows 1YX which indicates 1 - Chevy, Y - Corvette, and X - GS, 2LT, M7. Note that the VIN 5th digit X through Z and 1 are all for Grand Sport depending on trim and transmission. My service parts label QR code shows 1YY07. The 10th character indicates model year, 2019 would be K
By the way, my 2014 Z51 showed 1YJ in the VIN (2LT, M7, Z51) and 1YY07 on the service parts label.
This is a pattern, not a mistake. Only GM knows why they do it this way.
At some point in the process humans and/or computers were involved... of course, there are mistakes and probably more than we'd guess or GM would ever admit.
