My alarm recently began going off quite often now. The car will be locked. Several minutes later, the alarm/horn triggers. I'll get a text message from OnStar saying:
Before you ask...it's NOT the key fob panic button in my pocket accidentally being pressed. LOL. I don't think it's the main car battery because everything else in the car works fine. I've had the "possessed car" behavior before when the main battery goes bad...this isn't it.
Thankfully I'm able to use the MyChevrolet app to stop the alarm when I'm away from the car.
No OBDII codes last time I scanned it a few days ago.
Any chance you have a windshield shade up when the alarm is triggered? Took me a bit to figure out when a heat wave inside moved the shade slightly it set off the alarm.
interesting theory. Not in this case. It's gone off in the garage too.
Currently, I have deselected the "passive lock" feature. So when I get out of the car, it does not lock anymore. So, no more alarm going off. But I've been seeing the "Theft Attempted" message in the display when I get in the car after a while.
Good luck finding the cause of the alarm - it would get old having the alarm go off at any time.
Already there my friend. LOL. And it sucks that I can't lock it...cause it'll eventually go off. Soooooo thankful for the app. I've been able to cancel the alarm when I'm away from the car when this issue started.
One of my OBD scanners is a MUCAR V07. I've attached two reports from earlier today while I was sipping a bourbon cherry cola thing and chasing down this damn alarm issue.
Ignore the codes for:
Exhaust
Trunk Lamp
Amplifier
HMICM
I'm certain I have answers for all of those.
I'm more curious about the others. But none jump out at me as the offending failure.
The other report has some interesting things in it. Glass break? Everything is intact tho.
Uploaded images of the PDFs...easier to view this way on here.

Hmmm, I’d definitely investigate the “Glass Breakage” alerts. I read somewhere that the rear hatch glass uses the defrost wire as part of the break sensor circuit? Not 100% sure on this. They eventually found some wires/connection zorched on the hatch that caused on open circuit that triggered the alarm.
I have made some progress here. I discovered that when both windows are down with the car locked, the alarm does NOT go off. I still gotta try alternating each window individually

Steve gets the "random memory award." I also (now) remember the issue.
