Default Launch control

I have a c7 z06 (A8) and I've read/watched alot about launch control. Now I have put it in track mode, pushed the dial down 2x to access the system that comes on and access race mode. Pressed brake hard to the floor, press gas hard to the floor and all mine does is revs than drops, revs then drops. Back end tried to spin and the traction light (bottom left on dash) lights up and it won't lock properly, What am I doing wrong

It's definitely a too complicated process. I have to refer to a utube video to refresh my brain often.
It works great though. I totally hook with no spin.

You're doing everything correct, but there's something I need to say and is also what I think is the culprit to what you're experiencing. You may already be aware of this but if forum members and future C7 owners are going to use launch control, they will benefit from this information.

When you put the C7 in to competition mode/launch mode, the computer systems ONLY assist you with the launch and shifts post launch if the throttle is kept at an absolute 100% throttle. As soon as you hesitate, lightly lift, hit any bump etc that causes your throttle to read 99%, all computer management is out the door. You're left with no traction control, no stability control.. essentially the most raw form of the Corvette. When you're capable of keeping 100% throttle throughout your launch and acceleration run, the computer continues to assist.

What you're explaining is expected; Double Tap traction button > Enter Competition Mode > Compress Brake fully > Full throttle - The engine will rev up and settle back to it's launch RPM. This should hold the revs for you. If you're slightly lifting then TCS/Stability off, this is why your tires start to spin etc.

Just be weary as I've seen videos where they lift mid acceleration, it breaks the tires loose and sends the car off into the woods.

Good luck!

I can't get the rpm's to settle at launch level (2k I think), it just keeps going up a lil, down a lil while the back end is hopping a lil.

I have a M7 so my car doesn't move an inch but after watching this short video of an automatic it seems that what you're experiencing may be normal:
